I can see the point that if they can put multiple charges on for the same crime to set you thinking about plea bargains it's easier, but it is kind of strange. On the other hand, I think a lot of the so-called hate crimes (at least at the federal level) are civil not criminal, so it has a lower burden of proof.
To do this they'd need to scrap and buy all new hardware though. It'd seem in this case that unless all the *uxes had some horrible flaw or the Macs have some incredible must have feature, *ux would be the way to go assuming they are dumping MS (as opposed to just ending an exclusivity contract.)
