The points that were brought up plagues every single MMORPG ever.
All I am saying is wait for it.
The upcoming expansion levels the playing field between hardcore raiders and casual (those with real lives) players. But beyond pwning each other in PvP, what is there beyond that?
With the release of Naxx, we are taking steps closer and closer to confronting Arthas. The story begat from World of Warcraft must have an ending. Warcraft 1, 2 and 3 had endings and WoW shouldn't be any different.
In my opinion, I believe the storyline of WoW would end at the end of 2008 to pave way for either Warcraft 4 or WoW2. Let us not forget that the Warcraft movie is coming out and that would be a easy way to transition between two stories.
I currently play in one A Game of Thrones D20 campaign.
I am level 9. We will not get past level 10. I have 2 swords (normal, everyday, non-magical swords), a bow and leather armour. Nothing on me is magic. We don't deal with magic.
I have never had so much fun in my gaming life. Why? Because it is not about who or what you can kill but what you can do.
I have kidnapped a princess and quite possibly started a war. The thrones was overthrown. Since I knew the error of my ways, I helped the ursurper. At the end of the war, I was allowed to live however I have to help guard a ice wall from Barbarians for the rest of my days. I made a decision and my decision changed me and the world immediately around me.
My character can defend with no problems but he has a hard time doing damage. I think I have killed like 2 people in my life. That is what an MMORPG should try to get to.
Don't tell me it can't be done. I have seen all the "can't-be-dones" undone by WoW, of all things.
That is where MMORPGs have it wrong. Instead of trying to be like Pencil/Paper, they are devolving into this huge grindfest/lewtgetting non-fun non-game.
MMORPGs will go into the next generation when they are able to reproduce what we have in Pencil/Paper.
There is only one campaign we will play: George R.R. Martin's A Game of Thrones http://www.agameofthronesrpg.com/. I am not too keen on the D20 system but AGoT takes out the one thing that is broken in D20: the Magic System. No enchantments, no magic. If you are dead, you are d-e-d dead. A great campaign setting for one of the best Fantasy epics of all time.
... and as the guy who supports them, our company could not be happier.
We have dealt with some harsh quality issues with Dell laptops (pick a model, we get them all) and my boss decided to make the switch. We stick with T42s for ultra-portables while going with the Z60's for desktop replacement.
My only beef is that you cannot easily wipe and reinstall Windows on a Z60s (you must make some CDs from the recovery screen before blasting the laptop.) Windows isn't clean due it comes shipped clock full of McAfees and other crap (but what OEM ships a clean version of Windows anyways.)
I may have bashed MMORPGsinthepast however I never had major technical issues when playing WoW. The worst when playing WoW, iTunes and having Firefox, Opera and Outlook open at the same time caused my sucky onboard sound to flake out (high proc).
You would think that but I am thinking the opposite: Dell decides not to sell AMD since they already "do" in a roundabout way (i.e. Alienware).
I have been holding tight to replace my crappy craptastic Pentium 4 with a Dual Proc Dualcore Opterion here at work (we have to go Dell since we are net30 with them and they haven't pissed us off on workstations and servers... yet) not to mention the hold I have on buying servers until Dell goes AMD.
I will try to think positive and their acquisition of Alienware will speed up the transition into selling AMD solutions. If not, we might have to switch to HP. *shrudder*
After 10 years, I finally have a way out. I hope to be getting into Graphic Arts within this year... working for the same company. (Geez, I love my company *sniffs*)
IT is dead. Milk it for the money (yea right) and networking (get your head out of the IT gutter... I meant social) and then do something worthwhile.
This company I am with is the first company that appreciates what I am doing now as their SysAdmin. I know I could be here for 30 years doing what I do. But since I have burnt like a cheap hooker by the ups and downs of the IT industry (cost me a marriage, no less), it is time for me to pull the ripcord.
... no one can have an office space with a door that closes. I was trying to move into the server room to give up my cube for a newcomer. I asked about it but I didn't know about the "no door" policy.
Even the owner has a space just like the rest of us.
Right, sure. Lets take the MMO out of the MMORPG for a moment.
GENIUS! The is the only way you can get a good roleplaying game is cutting the number of people down to something manageable. That and removing anonymity would be awesome as well.
But you knew that... you are preaching to the preacher.
Optimist sees the glass half full. Pessimists sees the glass half empty. A realist knows that if he sticks around long enough, somebody will have to clean that glass.
2. Monster Khaos - Less carbonation than the other Monsters and great taste. Like the core ingredient of Monster + Orange Juice.
3. Water - Never too much. I only drink this between sets when I am working out. I check my weight before and after working out and if I am the same weight, that means I am drinking enough.
Someone brought up a good point: high fructose corn syrup. A really simple diet for anyone to try is to cut out HFCS and Partially Hydrogenated Oils which are mostly in processed foods. It makes you pay attention to the ingredients... you will be surprised what foods has this junk in them.
Quick check on Monster Energy's website
Sweat off the brow. No HFCS but they do have fruit juice concentrate. Oh well.

Time to do something different.
I am building my portfolio in order to become a Creative.
Wish me luck.

9 boxes of freakin' cards? Geez. Screw that.
I was going to get a couple of packs and check the artwork at best.
... move on.
Seriously, it is not this big. Yes I play. I don't care about the US-based subscription numbers. Still not that big of a deal.
Let me put it in another way.

... because they think slow grinding and slow traveling is fun.
Shocking, we are hearing reports of them struggling.
Atta boy. necro2607 1, big bad Blizzard 0
Whatever it takes to get you through the day. Ye gawds.

... I don't care. This is the greatest news ever.
Dances on grave
... who has no complaints for Blizzard and WoW. (No, I don't work for WoW).
I think it might be that I only play 5 hours or less per week. I imagine if I played more, I would actually complain more.
... being exposed to the greatness of Firefly and BSG, what can Paramount do to even appease or *gasp* entertain their core audience.
The bar has been set way too high.

Other than that, we love the laptops so far.

What, actually making games with actual plot and actual character development that pushes epic storylines along?
Oh, a bigger budget to make the same retread stuff. Neat. O.

I play video games and I know how to change the oil and tires on a car.
Next.

Good luck to you and your veggie diet. I think we meat/poultry/fish eaters sometimes take for granted what we get from said food.
As MMORPGs is to PnPRPGs, so is football is to hockey.
It all makes sense now.
