  1. It isn't tablets on PC Sales See 'Longest Decline' In History · · Score: 4, Insightful

The main reason for the decline of PC sales is that PC's have gotten to the point where their useful life is far longer than it used to be. Other than bleeding edge gamers and enthusiasts, there is just no need to upgrade as often as people once did. The same applies more or less to businesses.

Nearly every person I know who owns a smartphone and/or a tablet also has some sort of PC. I really don't think the portable device boom is the culprit here.

Lincoln was a despot who trampled the Constitution far more than any modern President has, and the changes he started led to the situation we have today where the Federal Government is all powerful compared to the States.

Was he right or wrong? I really can't say, and it's a question I've struggled with. The fact remains that it's quite politically incorrect to talk about his despotism. Instead everyone seems to revere him.

I find it interesting that oxygen was poisonous to Earth's first life forms.

I find it interesting that the life forms doomed by the Great Oxygenation Event didn't put punitive taxes and regulations on the cyanobacteria that were polluting the air with oxygen and bringing about climate change.
