    for instance, this writer regularly downloads images of various GNU/Linux distributions using a BitTorrent client because it is the more community-friendly thing to do, rather than using a direct HTTP link and hogging all the bandwidth available.

    It is also usually a lot faster to torrent your Linus ISOs.

    My memory is lousy now. I used to know things, because I had to. Now I pull out my phone and google for the answer. Need a phone number? It's on the phone too. I cant ever remember my best friends phone number and he has had the same one for over 15 years.

    If I ever lose my phone, I am so screwed.

    I mean after all if they are fixing unimportant things like this it must mean that they have fixed every other bug in existence. It will be wonderful to finally get to use 100% bug free software.

    ...I only use slashdot and carrier pigeons. This might explain the drop-off in invitations to family Thanksgiving.

    At least you made sure your relatives had a well provisioned Thanksgiving.

    It is really hard to stuff carrier pigeons.

    on a stick. According to a video you plug it into a raspberry pi with a video camera and it can recognize items places in front of a camera. As long as it's a doll, cup or hand.

    I firmly believe that MOVIE/TV version of AI will never happen. We will get expert systems, with pretty good machine learning, but that is as close to AI as we will ever get.

    A friend of mine is alive today because he was part of one of the early trials.
    He had been told by his doctor, just before he was accepted into the trial, that he should start putting his affairs in order.
    If I recall correctly, he is 7 years cancer free now.
