Sony who didn't see the need focus heavily on online gaming last gen had more people playing online with just one of their games, SOCOM, than the entire subscriber base of Microsoft's online service.
while that may be true... Sony's online service is free, whereas Microsoft's service is paid.
with regards to safari support, i believe it's because safari doesnt properly support all the features needed to have wysiwyg editable content. This is why support for in-browser wysiwyg in safari is a bit hit or miss at the moment.
I'd say the unified matchmaking / friends list is where most of the value of xbox live is. Not having to setup an online profile (along with who my friends are) for every single game I want to play online is pretty nice.
xbox live actually keeps stats on your bandwidth and will build a profile of known good servers. so over time, if you have good upstream, then xbox live should choose you to server more often than not.
i'm not sure the overhead of maintaining a torrent would be less than just serving up a single rss feed (or webpage, image, whatever small file). if i'm not mistaken, each client still needs to download the torrent from the main site to determine where it should download the payload from... and if you're going to do that, you might as well just serve up the small file.
also, using a torrent might not work so well for sites like slashdot, which allows users to customize the homepage and/or feeds...
here's all the audio files that are related to ilovebees.com. these get unlocked as people complete various tasks... it's pretty interesting, if you listen to all of them in order it's kind of like a 'radio series' that fleshes out the Halo backstory even more, and from what I understand the climax will lead into the release of Halo 2.
from what i understand, it's a alternate reality game. As a reward for solving various puzzles and/or completing certain tasks, players are given audio stories that flesh out the Halo universe a little more. It's actually been pretty good, the voice acting is great, and the climax of the story is going to lead right into the Halo 2 launch.
yup, you can order the entire extended edition trilogy from amazon.com. it should be released at the same time as the standalone extended edition rotk.
that's assuming those savings are if all client browsers dont support gzip compression... i'm fairly certain slashdot will gzip compress it's pages if the browser will support it.
since text compresses really well, those savings will probably be quite a bit less...
Does anyone know if it is slamming the msn messenger service as well? I havn't been able to connect to it recently, and it seems to be a network wide outage, since other people are having problems as well....
i found it for $40, but still pretty expensive... http://www.cdw.com/shop/products/default.aspx?EDC=105365
the difference being that Microsoft said ACID2 is not a goal they'll strive towards, whereas for Firefox, ACID2 is a planned milestone.
i believe the HDMI cable just isn't ready yet for the xbox 360.
the difference with the $1000 360 value packs is that you not only get the system, but a bunch of games and accessories as well.
while that may be true... Sony's online service is free, whereas Microsoft's service is paid.
and even if there was a successful XSS attack, it's on googlepages.com, so that should also help limit the scope of what could be done.

i dont think you can use a flyweel (or any energy storage device, like a battery).

i might be wrong, but i think the sample download doesnt have any DRM on it?

How about automatic reoccuring subscriptions. Customer's credit card gets billed $XX every month for some service.
metal gear solid looks awesome.
maybe if www.bay.com was also an auction site, then that might happen.
