It should be noted that the krona is worth about $0.11, so it ends up being like $4,446. For those of us who purchased long stems for our loved ones last Valentines that comes up to about 3 roses and a plush teddy bear or a handful of Gerber daises and a cardboard and macaroni "I luv U" card.
I could be wrong, but I seem to recall that the new Kindle doesn't support SD cards.

So he says that back then people were self-important pricks who seldom went past AOl for their online experience. I didn't know everyone in the past was named Farhad Manjoo.
I was thinking the same thing. Why is it the "Music Industries" music, not the song writer's or artist's music?
For bonus points, did anyone watch the Academy Awards this year? Generally they trot out that that piracy takes food off of tables or that Hollywood produced film keeps the tired, depressed masses from putting a bullet in their collective heads. This year it was that movies are produced by professionals. Even though it wasn't stated explicitly, it seemed to imply that non-cartel produced material was somehow dangerous. Creepy direction to go; public health fear mongering I mean. I'm just waiting to hear that it is the cartels who keep backwards masking our or properly controlled so that little Jimmy doesn't get addicted to meth.
When I was in school, having a pager on school grounds was immediate expulsion and a call for a criminal investigation (ie. is the student selling drugs) and attempting to log out of the terminal session on the library's card catalog was at least two weeks suspension. These days students and parents think having a phone is a universal right.
How are students supposed to learn how to circumvent the system when we set the bar so low?
The problem isn't the new layers added on, but layers that are removed for, lets face it, the console idiots. I'm not dogging those who play console games, I play them myself, but as games are designed more and more for broad appeal they tend to lose complexity and with each generation we get "dumber" games.
I couldn't agree more. How long has it been since a game like Duke 3D (the multiplayer never gets credit for being damn smart), System Shock 1 and 2 and Deus Ex came out? We may have smarter physics and prettier graphics these days (enemy AI is still debatable), but gameplay mechanics are almost regressive.
If you were a judge would you heavily sentence another judge? (Not that I know this is the case, there could be maximum sentencing guidelines at work here.)
What about all of the 3rd party apps on Facebook that require your Gmail or Hotmail or whatever password? Don't get me wrong, giving anyone your e-mail password is just asking for it, but there are plenty of people who already have. What guarantee is there that their user info isn't being sold off to who ever? These days, a Gmail password is almost of good if not better than an SSN. Tax returns, notices from your creditors, all that fun stuff, virtually non deletable and waiting for exploitation.
I can't help but agree with badanalogyguy, this is kind of underwhelming. You could build something like this (albeit, larger and bulkier) with software, instructions and off the shelf parts found online, and a working knowledge of python. I have respect for the time and effort they put into it (obviously the sequencer and the you-write-it video storybook took some time and effort, not to mention hardware assembly), but it really isn't that far reaching; just a lite, ready to sell idea. Good luck getting the VC for this, but it didn't exactly bend my mind....convergence!
I was chatting with a friend who was setting up a triple play type deal at his local telco. He was surprised to find out that the licenses for ESPN cost them about as much as all of their other licenses combined. Thats what happens when you get a monopoly.
I was hoping that Jack now had a side kick named, Utah Bill. I imagine them wandering the wilds together. Jack, a country lawyer taking down virtual murderers while Bill constantly has problems from his multiple wives.
So it should be something like $450 to $600?
Exclusives.

Ah yes, the good old zero-n/zero-FF user operator error.

It worked with Adobe for flash, so I can't say it is a bad move on Id's part.

That was cream of wheat you insensitive clod!
Just change "Less media hype" to "More media hype" and that equations sounds like EA.
At Google's moon base:
Bob17349: So Bob, did you get the webservers on Earth fixed?
Bob27346: Well Bob, I was going to but I can't seem to load the darn tools.
Bob17349: Well, if that doesn't beat all. I wonder how that happened?
Bob27346: Dunno Bob, dunno, maybe we never will know. Wanna go bang some moon rocks together, since we are out of golf balls?
Bob17349: Sure, sounds like fun.
Nah, my school had those rules. Seriously.

Students don't have those kinds of rights, at least I'm sure that was the argument used.
There is an Eliot Spitzer joke in there, right?
Taxes are like the death penalty, their reach is only so temporary.

Lunix can run on a '59 Eldorado? Impressive.
