"America only intervenes in the world for it's own good."
You truly deserve the "Anonymous Coward" tag. Please point me to long and glorious history of those legions of peoples and nations whose every act was selfless and whose every "intervention"
was solely for the benefit of others. There is much about U.S. foreign "policy" which deserves and regularly recieves criticsm, however as one who has lived in a great many of the world's timezones, and still maintains friendships gained there, I can tell you from personal experience that the "Canadian Commentary" you so lamely attack is an opinion shared by a great many people around this tortured planet.

No, maybe they should say U.S. Marines and there should be at least four of them in plain sight.
you children need to take an antidote to whatever holistic vegan "don't kill no animal" crap it is you swallow on a daily basis that makes you spew this noxious nonsense.
Search'in for McVeigh??? No such luck this time... check the captures from the boston cameras.. War, and rumours of war...

It has quite alot to do with the politics of appeasement.....
MAJOR fucking moron...
Full fadom five thy Father lies,
Of his bones are Corrall made:
Those are pearles that were his eies,
Nothing of him that doth fade,
But doth suffer a Sea-change
Into something rich, & strange:
Sea-Nimphs hourly ring his knell.
Burthen: ding-dong.
Harke now I heare them, ding-dong, bell.
"As much as MS would have it otherwise, most Office users are only using a very small subset of the functionality available."
I agree with the lameness of word, but don't you see? you just proved the joe-sixpack-only-needs-M$ arguement.......therein lies the challange for Linux in the corporate world... What is the compelling "feature" that you will give the end user that M$ has not... pleeeeze don't give me the "stability" rant...???
Good point. Still a rather large number for a well educated and extremely literate island don't you think? Of course, the numbers are probably comparable elsewhere in the "civilized" world..
"...Last year British retailers spent £626 million on crime prevention, and theft from stores reached a staggering £746m, equating to a cost of £85 for each household in the country..."
Let's see U.K. population ( 1999-UN numbers ) approx 59m... looks like the "average" Brit is pinching approx £12.60 per year in books... Anyone still wonder why Borders is pissed??? Anyone think this will just magically go away???
...Umm actually most office equipment is replaced in the U.S. every three years because that's how long it takes to become fully amortized - or worthless - to the Feds for tax purposes, and thus to the corporate bean counters. The idea that M$ and the PC manufacturers "plan" this is nuts... They take good advantage of this tax code "loophole" to be sure, but the same can be said of any vaendor of virtually anything from staplers to company cars.
"...these companies would have more credibility if they did not spend much more on advertising, public relations, lobbying, sponsoring sports events, etc., than on research..."
Speaking as one who has worked in IT in 3 different pharmaceutical companies, both in The EU and the U.S., I can say from personal experience that the apparently widely held view that these companies spend more on marketing than research is a crock. Please, I await just one post from just one/.'er who can quote from an annual report or a financial statement or any authoritative "neutral" source that proves pharmaceutical companies spend more on marketing/legal/FUD than they do on basic research and clinical trials.
Oh yeah, and the world is chock full of examples of "national health services" defeating epidemic-class diseases without the aid of those evil "corporatists".
It is refreshing to see the beginnings of a "main-stream" media move towards at least pointing out that these things are more often than not soley M$-related problems... Who knows, maybe they might even start to hold M$ accountable for stupid server tricks... But don't hold your breath.
Actually it goes:
Georgie Tirebiter,
He's a spy and a girl delighter.
Orgie firefigter, just a student like you.
If you're looking for the captian of the Ringball team, you can bet he won't be there.
You'll find him pop poppin alot at Pop's Sodium Shop, just turn'in all red from red-heads.
doobie doo wah.
Georgie Tirebiter just a student like you...etc etc...

I mean, monkey boy wasn't lying, he just wasn't telling the whole truth."
