It's ok. According to the lefties and SJW scum everyone is racist now, so we're all the same. Finally we've attained equality among people all in the US. Hooray!
These complaints are coming from the same noisy minority who will ignorantly blame Microsoft or anyone else when their computer is infected by some exploit that would have been prevented had they kept it up to date.
I haven't used OS/2 in many years, since around 2000 I'd say. Installation was always a challenge but once it was running it was solid and a fun system to use. I had custom built a computer specifically for OS/2 with a Pentium Pro 200 MHz, Matrox Millenium II video and Sound Blaster AWE64 which I ran for quite a long time. I'm looking forward to playing with this release although I admit it won't be a primary or even secondary OS for me at all.
Good, let him be the dictator of Facebook. Democracy isn't without its pitfalls so that is hardly an argument about someone setting the rules for the social site he created and is responsible for. Socrates taught us a pure democracy devolves into anarchy and ultimately results in a dictator anyhow so maybe Mark is just ahead of the curve.
As for being a Facebook me,ber, I've never joined and I've honestly never missed it. Not having a Facebook account has zero impact on me. I still talk to my family and friends and I can still use the Internet just fine!
Pranks cross the line when emergency services (police, EMS and fire primarily) need to get involved, even to disprove a situation as an actual event. Real lives and property may be at stake and if these services are distracted by bs like this there absolutely should be consequences.
Really, who cares if a convict can't visit face to face with people? They're in prison after all. We have far more important things to spend time on. This isn't an issue.
Small companies should use Microsoft for updates and software distribution so Pro is fine and store access isn't an issue. Large companies should use Enterprise exclusively. No exceptions. Updates and software distribution should be done via System Center or a similar solution where IT is controlling this. Enterprise users don't really need store access. It's a non-issue really.
Trump can potentially win the Presidency. We have Congress to prevent any individual elected as President from simply imposing their will on the American people. I personally trust that Congress can keep most candidates in check with the exception of Clinton. I believe the Clintons have proved themselves to be untrustworthy and manipulative and that they have plenty of "friends" in Washington that would make it difficult for Congress to stand against her. If more of the country believes this as well the smart vote is - believe it or not - Trump. More supportive of Trump, I believe he can and will surround himself with the smartest people to assist in the policy and decision making roles. Trump may be the "hand grenade in the crowded room" antiestablishment candidate, but he is certainly also a very intelligent individual with a track record of success in business.
If everyone transferred the same amount of data every month that would make sense. In a case where I watch a couple HD movies a day I should pay more than my grandmother who checks her email once a day. I agree data caps are rediculous and are an effect of price competition between providers. Stop advertising pricing based on time (n per month) and start advertising pricing based on throughput. Consumers will adjust to the new model. There can be no "unlimited" plans period. They don't work. All you can eat may work for Golden Corral, not so much for an ISP.
I'm not an accountant but I've been paying taxes now twice as long as I didn't. Federal I ncome tax is a marginal tax system. Anything above certain levels of income is taxed at the next higher rate. Therefore Woz's Max rate may be 28% for example but only on a portion of his income above whatever the cutoff is for that rate. I pay that rate on some of my income but my EFFECTIVE tax rate, that is the total percentage of my income that I pay, is much lower than that. Of course add in sales tax and state income tax and that rate goes up. Now if one chooses to live in a city that charges taxes on top of state and federal and sales, well maybe living somewhere else is a better idea.
This is exactly correct. Once we take care of our own we are happy to help others. With an unemployment rate of anything greater than zero some could argue we still have work to do to in our own backyard before we lend a hand to the neighbors.
Today this called "racism". Which is rediculous. It's nothing like racism, it's simply the right thing to do. Slashdot has never come across as "racist". It does continue to surprise me how the comments tend to lean more conservative. I think this reflects the age, maturity and perhaps wisdom of a well developed population of readers, like myself, who have been here many years now.
A US retailer catering to men offers rack quality clothing at generally inflated prices is named 'Mens Wearhouse' and their slogan is "you're going to like the way you look" or something to that effect.
Enough already with the anti-1st ammendement "you can't say that" rhetoric from the left. I've completely had my fill of this kind of crap. Just because they don't agree with someone, Trump or anyone else, they target those individuals and anyone associated with them with intent to financially destroy or publicly humiliate them. Fascist scum. It's time for a revolution in this country.
It really doesn't matter to the argument why someone wouldn't want to report it. The issue is the state making it a crime to not report it. Of course the majority of sane people would be very likely to report something of this sort. However now the state has taken away your freedom of choice to do so (or not) and will subject you to severe punishment for not reporting such content.
However as someone has already pointed out, this is virtually unenforceable anyhow. That doesn't excuse the state for passing a bs law though.
Unlike others I found this article well written and with a unique perspective. Defining requirements and tolerances is very important but far too often we overlook these steps and rush right into a project - get the PMO involved, assign a PM, purchase some widget we "need" and run setup. Project complete. Of course it doesn't meet the requirements of the user or customer, but we can't worry about that. We have more projects to "complete".
Let's face it, there really are no more actual news programs on tv. It's all about entertainment now in order to increase viewership and profits. If the broadcaster is going to profit from this, and they certainly will, then let the community bereft as well though a better funded police force. No problem.

That is the stupidest thing I've ever read. No wonder you posted anonymously.
Is it one of those slideshow ad sites masquerading as news? Twice in the past week some obscure site gets attention by getting itself /.'ed.

Rent control = artificially deflating the value of a property by government at the cost of the business owner
Price fixing is usually illegal in the US. This one if the rare cases where it's regularly employed.

Yeah, what ARE we going to do with that Kasich guy?
Yes he absolutely did do that and he should be in prison for it. However in this case he is absolutely correct.

Express your beliefs? No porn for you. Or Springsteen shows. Or minimum wage PayPal jobs.

And don't worry about what I'm using to clean it.
âoeSocialism never took root in America because the poor see themselves not as an exploited proletariat, but as temporarily embarrassed millionaires.â
I think this sums up why Americans work as hard and long as (many of us still) do.
Exactly, this will simply waste tax payer dollars and add complexity to a safety device adding to the likelyhood it will fail to perform when needed.
