I've used WASTE before, and it wasn't too bad. But the huge thing that made me promptly uninstall it (and I'm sure you hear this all the time) was the fact that there is no swarming. Might as well use ftp. Is this a feature that's in the works? If not, why not?
No, it's a bad analogy because you won't *die* (lose your life) without anti-virus or anti-spam software. Grandparent should get a good book on logic and read up on analogies.
I love the plugin updates too, but I had a bad experience with a certain extension (I think it was the tabbrowser preferences) that said it was successfully updated, but then every time I fired up firefox it would say it was available to update again....every time. Needless to say, it became annoying to the point where I poked around in about:config to turn off notification.
