  1. Resurgence is too strong a word.. But... on Get Ready For Divx On Xbox · · Score: 2

I can see it swaying sales... Slightly. To that person who is looking for a console with an "open source" future, it might just convince them.

"But think: it can be assumed anyone with the ability to burn cds also has the ability to play divxes on their computer."

As to that point, this is a huge market in Asia. You don't need a computer w/a burner to be buying the pirated VDCs and DiVX crap. Again, not sales dynamite, but enough to sway somebody. Of course, it's assuming MS can gain a foothold in Asia as well, since buying VCDs and DiVX on the corner isn't quite as popular in the US.

Or buy a SonicBlue Rio Volt SP250 for $146 at Buy.com and hook it up to your standard car stereo. It has many options most MP3 car stereos should have, but don't. Whether it's a portable or in-dash unit, however, MP3 players have quite a bit going for them. That's not to say Satillite Radio doesn't. But I figure you're shelling out how much and still getting commercials?! Record a 650mb winamp stream, burn it to disk an bam, you're there.

Anyway, the Psyclo altered their entire social culture through invasive brain surgery, not helmets. Overall, the effect would be the same likely :p

Actually, as a fair weather fan of the series, it's getting so i can't stand it. It's too clean and everything fits into a nice, one hour box. No sharp edges and the characters remain rather static in their personalities compared to other series of the type.

Somehow I think if somebody surrounded a gopher hole with barbed wire, micheal would consider it some sort of hack. "Tee hee! I found a website for underwater BB stacking! Nice hack!"

Maybe if he used fiberoptices. An actual skyline you could see. Changing backgrounds. Something beyond cardboard and Christmas lights. Everybody has their hobby sure, and I respect that. But why am I seeing it here? News for Nerds, stuff that matters, anyone?

Whoa. Depending on where you are relative to the tower, you're going to need a huge signal just to get the data there in one piece. What's the average output of a TV/Radio antenna? "But in our Mozilla tests, the ads sometimes permanently blocked part of the page"
"Unfortunately, IRC client apps aren't very user friendly, and the same goes for Chatzilla"
"Chatzilla doesn't offer much help, either"
"instead of closing just the debugger window, it closed all of our Mozilla browser windows, as well--definitely not the behavior we expected or wanted."

...Not to mention it placed first in only one of the XP Pro tests (mixed text and graphics)

I'm not a huge fan of IE, but it's the standard at this point in time. According to the author's of the review, it just doesn't do enough to topple the standard or convince people to defect from everybodies favorite comapany in droves. maybe the C- rating was a little hard, but surely not as inconcievable as this obvious Mozilla fanboy thinks.

Well, at least somebody's noting it and not just jumping on the privacy bandwagon blindly, chanting "Priavcy! Privacy! Privacy!" It should be obvious, but a lot of people don't seem to realize that the privacy they so feverently wage holy wars for is a double edged sword. I've said it before and I'll say it again... Everybody loves privacy. Until you find out that your local chapter of Jihads R Us has been thriving under the same policy and cooking up plans to slaughter your peoples wholesale. Then, when those same privacy fanatics scream "FIND THOSE TERRORISTS!", ultimate irony will set in as they realize their government can't help them because it would be violating all the privacy acts these people wish existed. I'm not advocating total government oversight, but some people out there need to buy a bottle perspective. What protects you, protects them.

I'm betting the teams are smaller all across the board, and while I'm sure they're giving 110% (and a healthy dose of TLC), it's tough to beat an MS programming sweatshop that way.
