you dont have to make an operating system for a computer in your car to have a nice ui. just make a windows (or linux) program that runs fullscreen and design the ui yourself
When all media is controlled by large corporations, it really precludes any involvement of the general populace.
maybe if your a def mute who never leaves the house and your only source of "media" is the television. this is the communication age, information travels thru so many different facets so many different ways we could lose television altogether and be just fine.
okay theres a big fat line between recycling and selling your garbage back to you as "refurbished" - ESPECIALLY electronic equipment.. holy shit whats this world coming to?
give parent more informative points, parents parent thinks bit torrents suppose to be like kazaa or gnutella. its not.
use a torrent when you have something you want to 'host' on your site but can't bank the bandwidth necessary for everyone to get a decent download rate.
theres no trying to thwart the *aa built in whatsoever. interesting the poster says some site was shutdown but doesn't say WHY - I'd guess it has nothing to do with the method of hosting but the content
exactly, they said the decision was a 'strategic' one. but what about hidden costs associated with linux? aren't there far less linux compitent IT guys available then there are MCSE drones?
from your statement it seems you think that just because data is not digital, it will degrade.
it is actually the medium that degrades, data corruption is a side-effect. film is vulnerable to heat and light and laserdisc is vulnerable to scratching. the format of the data is irelevent.
you should also realize that just the act of digitizing data is degrading it. the digital version will always be a subset of the analog version. really the only upside to digital is the ability to make exact copies.
the only thing you can do is preserve the original in analog format the best you can, digitizing it once in a while whenever better digitizing technology is available.
its just a way to trick acrobat into thinking your plugin is signed. if your installing a plugin for anything you should realize it will be executing on your computer and proceed with caution. its not the hosting app's job to make sure its plugins don't do anything they're not suppose to do (imo that responsibility should fall on the os, but thats mho) - so whatever extra security added by adobe to try and prevent untrusted plugins is pure gratis

disk protector was ahead of its time with video compression and high speed playback. back in the mid 80's me and some friends would try and copy oregon trail just to see the video.
It might sound like a bankruptcy waiting to happen, but software engineer Nick Jennings is supremely confident the phones will not mess up anybody's life.
If you have to tell people "dont worry it won't mess up your life", I think you might have problems.
Like the robo-maid that cooks and cleans- don't worry it won't murder your wife and kids in their sleep.
everyone is talking about faster search times and more efficient memory usage.. what about the other benefits. will there be stored procedures, views, computed columns? I would love to have a directory on my system that was actually a view of all the files on my harddrive 'where type=music and artist=infectedmushroom' or better yet 'type=porn and artist=sunghi'

goto your preferences and put a negative adjustment on funny, if you think our jokes are that bad.

..is a work of art. simple game play, reasonable difficulty progression from one level to the next. except its addicting
doesn't everybody categorize their porn?

It could be due to a small market share I suppose

you should be using ice cream to cool your cpu. much better thermal dissipation
only newbies still use liquid nitrogen
