I do but it seems to be broken. I have used that on both topics and videos. At some instances it even recommends MSNBC and Rachel Maddow, no matter how much I tell it that I am not interested in all that news drama.
I think that it is interesting that even if I tell YouTube that I am not interested in that video or channel, they are quick to keep pushing more content of the same type. It seems like when you venture into a new field or topic, they promote that heavily to you. It might also be that I have watched every video relating to the other topics that interest me.:D (nah)
Also, the recommended feed have been weird for the last month or so, I keep getting recommendations to videos I just watched a few days before.
Hmm, I might have watched so many videos after all that I have broken the system.:D
I was watching a video about the dismantling of Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant and then one about Sellafield and then YouTube started recommending a bunch of related videos. And I know this is what happens, so I am leary about watching a conspiracy theory video or an anti-vax video just to laugh at them because I YouTube then will start recommending more of that bullshit instantly.:D
There seems to be so much negativity connected to The Facebook brand that I wonder why some people keep using it. If it isnâ(TM)t for all the ways that Facebook messes with you and your data hen itâ(TM)s all the negativity in comment and shared post, only surpassed by the shithole that is Twitter.
I have given up on all the “advice” since it is changing all the time. I’ll just keep eating my oatmeal (porridge? Or what’s it called in English) every morning. I believe at the moment that is considered somewhat healthy but I can’t keep up with the trends and I guess I will keep eating it.:)
Can't see if you can upgrade the RAM on this model. Based on experience, I would max out the CPU and GPU in the configuration, go for a 512GB or 1TB SSD, ditch FusionDrive. If the RAM is upgradeable then save on that and expand that later.
I am running a late 2013 iMac and I can still use it for video editing, even a bit of 4K. I have added an external RAID0 for editing (2x4tb 7200rpm, partitioned with the fastest part of spindle for editing) and a 1tb SSD for smaller projects. I wanted to go all SSD but I having trouble finding an external enclosure that supports TRIM which I "need" as editing videos don't seem to play well with traditional SSD usage. Since I only have the original Thunderbolt specs, the choices are limited.
But as I had said before, FCPX is really the only thing that keeps me on the Mac(ok, I like the OS too) so perhaps I should have a go at a Hackintosh again, or learn DaVinci Resolve already. I guess I will stay on my old iMac until it gives up the ghost and makes the decision then.:)
I was looking into it because I wanted to use photoshop, after effects, perhaps learn premiere pro to get away from apple and fcpx. (Although now I guess I would go for davinci resolve). For the 5 years I have used my iMac, I paid for FCP X once. And so while the iMac is expensive, I have saved a lot of money in licences towards a new machine if I donâ(TM)t switch back to pc.
I can get by with The Gimp, not perfect but ok for my personal use. After effects I donâ(TM)t need as such and I can do what I need to do with Motion 5, Iâ(TM)d like to try media encoder again to see if it can stitch my raw photos from my drone time lapses but I use ffmpeg and converts jpgs into ProRes video instead.
So all in all, the are alternatives to being locked into a minimum 1 year license. Had it been for work, Iâ(TM)d had work pay for the licensing. Cheers.
The price seems to go up and the quality down.:/ When my late 2013 iMac finally gives up I might have to learn Premiere Pro and give up on Final Cut Pro X. Or perhaps have another go at a Hackintosh(note to self. buy AMD graphics card instead of NVIDIA)
Perhaps, I hope I am.:) But it's the feeling I get from the EU happy politicians that it's what they want. (It's not that I am not against the EU as such.)
I wonder how many citizens consider their country being a "state" in the EU. I know it is the politician's wet dream, and something they lied about would not happen, to have the United States of Europe.
I think it is like most cloud solutions(backup, mail, office solution etc). It is fine for "regular" PC backup $5 a month and you have a backup of your computer without having to muck about with it. But special use cases require a bit more.
Thanks, I'll give it a whirl since I am about to cancel it anyway. Better do a restore test though.:D There isn't any huge gain anyway since it is video anyway.
(Denmark) I believe I pay around 150DKK ($22 USD?) for 20 gigabytes of data, unlimited talk, sms, mms. That goes for international as well, but only 10GB of data and have to touch homebase after a month or something like that, I suppose it to avoid it being sold and use 100% people outside the country. It means that when I travel to the US, I can use the phone like when I am home. It has been very useful.:)
I was just looking for another way to backup my NAS. I had been using CrashPlan on Linux but as I have approached 7TB I’d data, mostly unedited video, and lost my baseline, it has become way to slow. It is interesting that if I want to backup 10TB, the cheapest solution I have found is to place a small QNAP (1 or 2 drive) at a friends house and run run sync backup between them. It has a break even at 1 1/2 year, power bill included. Since we are on 100 megabit internet it is fast enough. Was looking at backblaze b2 as alternate solution. I am not aware of any other backup provider than CrashPlan that offers unlimited space using a Linux client. The speed issue seems to be a single threaded java program that does client side deduplication. It will take me 7 months to reestablish baseline. 2 months when I exported the VM with the backup client and ran it on a cpu with faster single core performance.:)
They kept recommending me a bunch of boring spineless standup comedy, some about that American "white privilege" bullshit concept. The auto-play trailers weren't selling something I cared about watching. Clearly, their algorithms aren't that good.:D
Only more expensive.
All programs will also be in mono, black and white and only in French language because, you know, as they say in France, le courage.

You sound surprised, what did you think would happen?
Well it's Walmart so they have training in making shitty things look good,
So that is why I am getting all those ads for straightening hair.

The mechanics were cute but apparently the assistant part were lacking.

No you are right, I guess the cheapest solution is the Adidas net with a 12TB USB drive. :D
But I still want to geek out a bit I suppose.

BBC is on its way to being just as politically correct with bland content as Netflix.
