  3. No, Perl Won't Work for You! on Ballmer Sees Free Software as Enemy No. 1 · · Score: -1, Offtopic

I don't know if Perl would work in your situation. Specifically, Perl lacks threading capabilities. Furthermore, its not very Object Oriented, which you seemed to want. Not only that but it looks like an explosion in an ASCII factory.

Might I suggest you use Python. Not only is it easier to use than Perl (many people believe Perl will be replaced by Python much as C has been replaced by C++) but its faster on text processing AND support for SMP threading!

    Good luck,

Egg Troll never spends a lot of cash on anything on eBay. Instead we prefer to buy locally. Of course, not everyone is as blessed as Egg Troll to live in a large city.

So if you live in Peanutville, GA and need to buy something expensive, Egg Troll highly suggests you use eBay's escrow service: The seller doesn't get paid until you get the item. Egg Troll reminds you that escrow isn't perfect but its a lot better than nothing!

  12. Have you considered C# on Designing Computer Animation Software? · · Score: 4, Insightful

As much as FSF advocates are pained to admit it, C# is going to become the de facto programming language in the next few years. By writing your program in C#, you'll be the first 3D animation package to use this, and take advantage of the power of .NET. Since there are already several packages similiar to yours, you have to do things like this to make your project stand out.

    Good luck!
