My roomie had a fan's bearings get noisy after only a month of use. I am assuming that the fan will fail within the year.
Maybe a new cooling solution for computers needs to be implemented. Having a fan for the power supply, processor, GPU, hard drives, southbridge, and basic system fans can get very noisy. Especially if two (or more) of the fans resonate. I think it is time for a standard cooling system. Maybe each piece of hardware that needs cooling should come with a universal bracket that hooks to industry standard water cooling solutions or something.
I had a friend that lived in Boston for a long time. The traffic problems are so bad throughout the city that the people of Boston (a majority) wanted this to happen at all costs. This is a huge undertaking and I wish luck to all those who worked to complete it. One thing that I am not sure about (I should ask him), is what is the mass transit like in Boston? Do they have subways and busses that are easy and cheap?
Transcipts were released today including those of Gates and Ballmer arguing over what to call the latest version of Windows. Gates suggests WindowsXP where Ballmer is whining like a monkey screaming for WindowsXS. Gates eventually won the argument by giving Ballmer a food pellet.

It is so much faster. This is the best version of VNC I have ever seen. There really is a noticable improvement. And lately, with the "version wars" everybody seems to be having it is nice to see a product that really does have a difference in quality between versions.
If there is no longer a grey hat because of dumb-ass laws, what do you think the distribution is going to be from grey to black or grey to white? I personally believe, since there aren't that many jobs available, many more people will switch to black hat instead of white.
Either way, "black" or "grey" doesn't matter as long as they continue to push the industry into security. In my opinion both are doing good to the industry. What happens if we get into an information war and we never had to deal with security before? Black and grey hatters - you are patriots to me, no matter what the government says.
I would fight with you... if it gets worse. This is nothing to fight (physically) against. We still have voting and legal options to go through. Plus we would all be annihilated if we revolted because we wouldn't have the army's support. The freedom to bear arms thing ends at tanks and nuclear weapons. We really couldn't put up much of a struggle.

I try to keep cell phone talking to a minimum while driving (never on at restraunts be it MCDs or better). But, I never talk in the city and I never let the cell phone be #1 priority. If there is heavy traffic most people hang up on me because I'm not responding to them I am responding to traffic. A person can do the cell phone and the driving at the same time... as long as they prioritize and pay attention to the road.
Find couples that sleep very deeply together and analyze their brain waves to see if they are similar. If they are then obviously the two couples can sense each others brainwave.
A great follow up story to that would be to test to see how people detect other's brainwaves.
My prediction is that the person that we fall in love with (or are comfortable with) has a very complimentary brain-wave-pattern to our own, thus making us comfortable with them on more than just a physical/conscious level.

That is the same reason why I have never tried any ATI cards. I like to be on the bleeding edge with OSes (XP and RH7.2) and I am affraid ATI wont support thier cards. I usually keep my hardware for a couple of years (or 3 OSes whichever comes first:)). Oh well... I might have to take a chance since it is time for a new card anyway.

Long ago people thought that it was obvious that if you swing a ball at the end of a rope then release it, it would continue on in a curve... but a quick study showed that it consistently flew off in a tangential line. Obviously by today's standards that isn't a breakthrough, but pre-Newtonian physics sure didn't get it.

You need to sign up with passport to have hotmail or msn messenger (or anything microsoft related for that matter).
You aren't forced... as long as you don't have friends that use Messenger.
