If this becomes a reality, expect to see it in Kiwi shoe polish. Thousands of ROTC students and millions of military personnel would be a pretty good market for Kiwi Black Self-cleaning(TM)...dunno how you'd buff it though, considering it repels water so violently
There are people of legal age that attend highschool (18 in my neck of the woods) yet no one is bawling for the right to look at porn in schools. how is this any different?
Let me get this straight, you want to put the OS for a server on something which loses all data when the power is cut?....If i were a manager, i'd have you shot for using those things. what happens when the UPS goes on the blink, or someone unplugs it by accident? I thought so.

Oh I dunno, perhaps if they...wanted to sell them in the US?
Why pay a CCIE $80,000 to do your configuration when you can pay somebody $35,000?
Because if you offer 35k/year to someone who knows this stuff, whether CCIE or not, they're gonna laugh all the way to their interview with your competitor.
There's no doubt that the company that let their financials get out were completely moronic about their security. That, however, does not change whether or not it was wrong to hunt for this information. It's no different from the 'she was wearing something revealing so i have the right to rape/sexually harass her' fallacy.
That's a rather extreme analagy, and not altogether a good one. It's more like a girl wearing something revealing and then getting all indignant when *gasp* people actually look at her [legs|ass|chest]. i.e., if you dont want people to see it, dont make it public.
I love hearing people say things like this. I'm willing to bet that if the RIAA DID offer you this, you'd still get your music free and come up with another excuse.
But there is an abolute, common morality. Murder is wrong. Stealing is wrong. Infidelity is wrong
You are incorrect (sadly.) THere are plenty of people who advocate a "whatever works for you" lifestyle, bar nothing. Total moral relativism. That frightens me, when i look around at the morals (or lack thereof) of some people

I think being on the witness stand is extrodinary circumstances. especially in a criminal case. How are the judge and jury supposed to validate information that is second hand (coming through the journalist from someone else)
From the article: The poor ranking of the United States (17th) is mainly because of the number of journalists arrested or imprisoned there. Arrests are often because they refuse to reveal their sources in court. Also, since the 11 September attacks, several journalists have been arrested for crossing security lines at some official buildings.
Okay so wait, journalists are knowingly witholding information during legal proceedings, and going into areas which they do not have authorization to be. Going with this reasoning we could also rank poorly because journalists were arrested for harassment, breaking and entering, slander and even assault and battery. Sounds to me like it's their own damn fault they got busted.
And....what are those actually used for? (serious question)
If they were worried about musical value and meaning, they wouldnt have stretched a classical masterpiece horribly out of shape =p
You don't really want a pet American crocodile
I do. But keep in mind, I'm the geek with snakes
rare Earth metals such as silicon, glass, and copper, not to mention metal for cases
Sillicon and copper are rare-earth metals? My periodic table must be a bit out of date...
You'd just have to run around naked in the rain to get it to work properly =p

Judging by your opinons i'd say you dont have children.
They squandered the market they exceled in to pursue what the VCs told them would be of value.
What precisely does VC mean in that context? Whenever i read it i think "Victor-charlie" ie, vietcong

fog != smoke ;)
I for one don't have a problem with executing kids who knowingly commit high crimes that have capital sentances. This wanna be sniper for example.

I have to reconsider my confidence in commercial avionics if they can lose functionality because of a CD player.
Anti-abortion sites are censored, what about pro-Catholic? After all, Catholics oppose abortion.
To the best of my knowlege, Catholics generally don't advocate the murder of people who are pro abortion. that's the difference

Yes, actually, I can hear that on TVs. Never noticed on a CRT. Though it is likely my case fans are drowning the noise out
Lots of geeks already have buff right arms, but not from aerial mousing.
