LCD Round-up
·
· Score: 3, Informative
1. LCD's are smaller, have less of a depth to them. Okay, I'll give you that one. CRT's are pretty huge if you're strapped for space
2. LCD's are silent, CRT's have a horrible whine. If your CRT is making noise i have to wonder if perhaps something's wrong with it. Mine makes not a sound.
3. LCD's don't have that annoying screen refresh that gives people (me, anyway) an awful headache. Buy a decent monitor. I had that problem too, until I ditched my 3-year old CRT and got a KDS flat CRT. Notched the refresh rate up to about 75Hz and no more headaches
4. LCD's use less power. It ads up in the long run. Can't comment. I'm not terribly concerned about saving five bucks on my power bill if i payed and extra 200$ for the LCD though
5. LCS's are brighter, at least in my experience. Most monitors do come with a controls that let you adjust that;)
The stupidest computer user i ever encountered as a Mac user just switching to PC. She couldn't comprehend the idea of having two power switches to turn on (monitor and PC tower) in order to get everything working. I dont think apple wnats to know the "real" people that use their gear either.
You sue the guy, of course. BUT, the Daily News is required by law to turn over all information they have on the fellow to the police so that action can be taken.
There is no such thing as a subsonic.223 round, but not because of the reason you gave. The long.223 case means that if you lessen the charge any (which is what is done to produce subsonic ammo) then the powder can move around in the case, thus causing problems iwth ignition and firing. There is a solution, which uses a necked down.338 case which is shorter, but that's further offtopic. Also, making a subsonic.223 round does NOT negate its purpose, as then you have a subsonic projectile that still has good armor piercing ballistics (as opposed to a subsonic 9mm or.45 round, which would literally bounce off body armor)
in the original C&C there were plants that did this (at least i was always led to believe they were plants)--they extracted all manner of valuable metals and secreted it in the form of crystals...mind you those things were highly toxic and energetic enough that humans would combust upon prolonged exposure but hey, its just a game= =)
I was having some real issues with some instant messangers working (and no this isnt normal) when i called bellsouth's ADSL tech center they told me there was some problem cause unknown starting at approx. 8.30am EST and resolution time unknown. could this be the same thing?
Book bindings are shoddy enough as it is. the LAST thing we need is some sort of "print on demand" factory having to make them WORSE in the name of speed.
Likewise a friend of mine in web development once had an industrial group turn down his presentation because they didnt think the quoted price was high enough.
You will also have to buy another one in 1-3 years if you want newer games. I think my GF3 will hold out a year or two longer than that, AND there are no platform headaches to worry about (sure sony was nice and let the PS2 play PSX games, but will they be that nice next time? what about NOA and MS?)
about 300 people out of my 1400 member highschool could have gotten alot out of this article..or rather the comments. they all seem to be of the mind that you can throw a pair of 15" subs in a plywood box and throw it in the back of your car, and then they wonder why it sounds like an amplified fart when the bass hits.
But, really, is this news? As I recall teachers have been decducting points for improper use of english and bad spelling for a while now. I do realize that this does somewhat have to do with the internet, but really it's just another form of slang.

Probably because not having a "good" education may actually keep you from being able to do a job well. Imagine that.
Oh, yeah, next time i get caught shoplifting remind me to sue the store for not informing me that taking items home could be a crime.
I hope there's an option to plug it into an AC outlet, i'd hate for the batteries to go dead halfway through a file transfer

Apples, peaches, apricots, cherries and almonds are the species i know that do this, i think tehy're all in the same family or genus
No, but all of those people would love to know how they can cheaply avoid those things.
But I think we should call it Yuggoth. And then stay the hell away from it lest we find a lake where puf't shoggoths play

Damn, someone beat me to theHPL reference =)
If they find a Shoggoth I'm gonna laugh.
Wonder who got the first First Post?

Faulty logic. The cost to the winner is only his time invested, not everyone else's. Like playing the lotto, almost.

Winning 10,000 dollars isn't productive?

Boxen still isn't a word.
