The thing is, I could care less if they are advertising in the game like that. I don't have to sit through it and that's what what I have to do with TV.
but, you cannot download something without someone uploading it. It's like yin and yang! The whole idea of uploading being wrong but downloading ok is just really wierd.... *sigh* I guess I shouldn't expect anything like the RIAA to make sense now should I ?
The thing is, it's not so much the complexity of the graphics, but the richness of movement that 3D allows.
You can do a lot of pretty neat things with 3D transformations... For instance, you could make a dungeon crawler that was in a real time 3d system instead of 2D maps- sounds like a pretty cool device to me.
Regardless, the levy is some sort of monetary compensation for the idea of "pirating music" Doesn't that mean automatically that we are all allowed to upload and download then? If not I think that we should *all* get our money back from the levy because what the hell is it for then?
Is the sending of the checks some sort of "get away with it forever now that we have paid some people money for our indescretion" card?
Well.. the CRIA obviously doesn't believe that because even though we Canadians are paying a blank CD levy there are still people who are going to be sued.
What about a robotic Spider? Or some sort of multi-legged animal.. I presume that would make it easier and quicker on the ground, and you can just imagine all the looks from the envious geeks you know. Maybe something along the lines of a crab, so that it has gripping legs to pick up things as well as severl legs so it scurries along the ground.. I'd buy that! I'm not so sure about a slow mechanical monkey that burps and farts though..
Everything in the DMCA is completely Draconic. You want one rule, you get the other. No other way around it. By the way, that part of the DMCA specifies that if someone claiming that you have a copyright infringement on your website (or whatever) asks you to take it down, you have to take it down - regardless of whether you actually infringed on the copyright. That is what I do call Draconian.
I was under the impression that even quantum mechanics is limited by distance. There is a paper I read on the subject of entanglement a while ago that stated that an entangled pair cannot communicate faster than light. Needless to say I was kind of dissappointed.. =)
Sonic the hedgehog 2 had some moderate to major slowdown in some areas - I remember dying several times because of lag in a sonic game.
God that sounds like my latest experiences with online FPSs: "LAG!!!! I totally hit you head on with the redeemer!"

Hey, at least they got told, right? Afterall, they could have been like Milton.
Yeah well, everything always looks good when you compare it so something worse...
That would be cool if Canada owned space.. Maple syrup falling from the sky like rain! mmm... maple syrup......
What the heck? I can't play games if I'm a geek no-... oh.. time for bed....

Tetris sold the original black and white GB back in the day.
Ahem.
That was green and a strange orangy brown grey. Black and white wasn't until the game boy pocket.
"M-Hay! m-hay"
The little suppository-shaped siemens
Which begs the question, How do you know that??

This is why I like dogs. You own the dog, not the other way around.
You also forgot quite a few short stories that _always_ stick with me after I read them.
The SCO business plan is not a plan for success!
I got montezeuma's revenge from drinking too many bottles of pepsi once, but I've never heard of this Scully's revenge?
They should be putting more pepsi in those bottles! Gippin' us of our precious sugary water goodness.
It's all social sciences - no real meat to the gaming discussions.
Sorry, anything new is copyrighted for another 70 years.
Actually, the percentage of people in Canada who have broadband is about twice that in the U.S.
Kiss my faster-than-thou-ass oh striped ones!
Which is approximately, what, 0.05% of the gaming population? =P
