Are you sure it'd be a trivial port? I imagine OmniWeb is probably using Quartz, for which there is no GNUstep counterpart last I checked. Also, if it were possible why would it have to be specifically for Linux? Are you an OS bigot?:-)
I don't think it's at all unreasonable to require that pr0n not be distributed to children and that it be clearly labeled as such on the outside of the package somehow. This guy's scam fails on both counts.
If you don't want to change your work style then don't buy a Mac. Wasn't that easy? Personally, I kind of like how my iBook has just one big button, I never have trouble finding it and my left hand is always near the keyboard anyway to grab the modifier keys. I think this is a total non-issue and can't believe how emotionally involved some people are about it.
Perhaps this could even mean an end to the dial-up disconnection woes, as those, too, were MP related. (For those of you blissfully unaware, MP machines with a dial-up modem connection had a tendency to randomly drop said connection.)
I only have a single-processor machine, but fortunately Earthlink provides this service as an extra value-add.:-)
Shouldn't you get the MD5 checksum from the original site? Otherwise it kinda defeats the purpose.

Why on earth would anyone bother hand-optimizing a piece of code that spends probably 99% of its time blocking on disk I/O? And how exactly is it "portable"? Your time is your own and if you want to waste it that's your problem, but this is hardly something to be bragging about.
Pharoahic Egypt will dominate forever. The Greeks are always drunk, and the Romans? They live in a freaking swamp! Don't even get me started on the Persians... Clearly, Egypt will forever dominate the world.

And the IM programs will have to be extended to handle all the new emoticons associated with gang signals. That would be totally cool! Just what the Internet needs to enhance it's street cred.
You can download Outlook Express for free. It's only for Classic though, it won't be updated for OS X.
Yeah, the US would NEVER hurt a fly, let alone kill innocent civilians.
Really? It's because one AC doesn't care what OS other people use?

I just checked my ps output and it was running as a user, not root. Maybe it only needs root for starting up, then relinquishes the privilege?
Give up, dude. Its a loosing battle. There never going to get it. Your wasting you're time.

Never tried this myself, but might be worth looking into:

I've got an old 14" monitor you can plug into. That'll give you anti-aliased fonts, line-art, bitmaps, the whole shebang!
All of those other costs will be there no matter which software is chosen. This is hardly a point in the favor of Linux/Gnome.
Also, WTF happened to the "Post Anonymously" button?
Okay, I remember now. Thanks guys.
Where did the bit about "dogs with bees in their mouths" come from? Was it a Monty Python episode? I can't remember now, but I love that line.
Wow, Reggie White reads Slashdot!

Yeah, if those people don't love teaching enough to starve for it then who needs 'em?
It was a typo. They meant to say GUN/Linux, Eric Raymond's new distribution. Nothing says security like cold steel, you know...
...named Clifford?
I hate to break it to ya, but those sidewalk drawings were an IBM ad campaign. :-(

It's a bug in the Hotmail code itself, it has nothing to do with the underlying operating system.
