    I recently bought a camera in the states - had it shipped to my hotel in NYC from Texas, thereby avoiding US sales tax as well.

    I saved 50% compared to UK prices, which was around £700.

    If the overall cost to you is reasonable, then I don't see anything inherently wrong with that business model. I'm an Epson inkjet user, and their charges seem reasonable to me considering the VERY high quality of my printer.

    The corporations rely on the slow speed of the free trade organisations to deal with thei illegal practices to make more money. The best approach from a consumer's point of view is to simply not buy HP.

    I was pretty disappointed that it didn't come with a 16 port 232 serial card myself. I mean, come on Apple, you didn't even include and 8" floppy - who's gonna buy one of these?

    Hang on - I paid £29 for the OSX public Beta (IIRC) then £25 for the .0 version, then £69 for 10.2 and £69 for 10.3. So that's around £192 over, what, 4 years? A copy of Windows would have run me around £225 for a full copy and then another £100ish for an XP Pro upgrade over the same period.

I hate to break it to yo8u, but if they've made it here unassisted, then they've already seen more web porn than that you could possibly imaghine - by making the human body a thing of secrecy and shame, you're contributing to an unhealthy attitude to sex - and that will get those kids into trouble later on in their lives.

    I don't normally reply to myself, but a quick look at the wikipedia entry for Priapus shows that there IS NO MENTION of his huge cock - ie his defining feature.

    What a load of guff.

    Apple THEMSELVES fit Crucial / Micron RAM, so why would fitting it yourself cause any problems? I've been fitting 3rd party RAM to Macs for over a decade now without ever experiencing problems.

    You can configure it for IP over Firewire. 3-4x 100BaseT perfrormance in reality.
