  1. Too convenient on Taking On A Spammer · · Score: 1

So the spammer's machine just happened to be running BO/NetBus/PCAnywhere? That sounds too convienient, and why did he word it that he "hacked" into the computer?

This story sounds something like you'd see on TV or the movies, where everybody's computer is "hackable" and you can see what they are doing on their computer in realtime.

Let me guess, he typed a command on the spammers computer saying "ACCESS ALL OF THE SECRET FILES" in huge letters and got everything he needed.

For the record, I was complaining about the poor quality of the motherboard mostly. I wanted it to be a dual boot 98/linux system, but with the SiS video drivers in Linux not working, I had to go out and buy a new video card(that works beautifully in Windows, same for the onboard sound).

As for the weird error messages, it was from the BIOS that I could not figure out. I only had to warm boot it after the error, and it started fine.

On the Compaq laptop, running Win98Se, the cam works flawlessly.

As for the realityfusion games, they are just plain silly. You look like an absolute dork waving your arms around trying to pop bubbles, etc.

I remember seeing a kid play some karate game with the RealityFusion setup. I don't know if he was immersed in an interactive game that makes you get out of your chair, or if he has a severe case of Tourette's syndrome.

The moral of the story is, avoid PcChips motherbaords(with integrated everything) at all costs. Already the sound has died, and gives me some weird error each time I start it up. Right now it's sitting in the closet.

1 week later, I had the router in my hands and I was online. Now I just have to pay a $492 phone bill. Just to make sure I didn't get the run-around, I signed up with them for the Internet service as well.

Before I was able with US West, I decided to check with Covad for DSL serivce, since they went a little further from the CO. Unfortunately, their pricing is outrageous. Several hundered dollars for the hardware, and hookup fees, plus a yearly contract. You could get charged if you aren't around when the tech shows up, blah blah blah.
