    Real dogs leave a real mess, a real stink and you can't turn them off or take them apart without going to years of medical school.

    They arn't much brighter than Aibo either. (Some breeds, like newfoundlands, can't even take care of their own children because they sit on them by accident.)

    What good are teachers unions if they don't strike under conditions like these? At what point do you just say: "Screw it, the public education system is not working. We would be better off privatizing." My guess is that teachers wouldn't be better off privatizing, but I can't figure out why...

    Carmack also said that Doom 3 won't have the frantic pace of the Original Doom or Quake, but rather a more cinematic moody feel. So 30 FPS should be acceptable (Movies are less than tat)

    Low-Cost alternative? To what? An SGI Machine? If that is the case, more people go for the low-cost alternative.

    It is like alternative therapies in one way:
    Pretty colored beads will not cure cancer or solve equations quickly.

    An automated online game would be great.

    Where you could program your AI and check in on it periodically to see how it's doing. Then you just tweek your script from time to time.

    Nobody with a life has the time to whack at virtual rocks for 10 hours a day to become a competitive character.

    This would work well in a game like "Tradewars 2002", not so much in a role playing game like Ultima Online though.
