Yeah, I didn't even know the original Xbox had analog facebuttons until I played DOA Volleyball or whatever its called..that game used it for some reason...

  6. Difference... on MTV Nominates Game Tracks, Misses Point · · Score: 1

Isn't there a difference between "Soundtrack" and "Score"?

i.e., Something like "Best Score" should be included in a legitimate video game awards show. (Altho that doesn't exist).

The article even says it..."Unsurprisingly, the reason these games have been nominated isn't because they feature charming, interesting, moving symphonic scores."

Soundtrack is different and what this is representing.

  7. Re:Microsoft has finally figured this out on NYT on the Rise of Casual Games · · Score: 1

Possible problem with this is, will anyone spend $300 on a machine that would do that, when a computer can do that and so much more?

Perhaps tho, it could possibly be more of an incentive for parents to buy for their kids, but I don't think it will be a major selling point for it.

But I know I'll probably download some of the games from the XBL service and play them.

  8. We'll be having this same argument years from now. on Are Older Games More Satisfying? · · Score: 1

But it will be about a couple of current generation games.

Seriously, there are great games from this generation, last generation and all the way back to Pong.

I also think your want to go back and play them is determined by how easily you can get a hold of something to play them with. SNES, NES, and Genesis games are easy to go back and play because of the emulators that are out there.

When an emulator comes out way down the line for a Gamecube, how many of you will probably go back and play The Wind Waker or Metroid again, or Prince of Persia, Sands of Time? I think I will be one of those people.

But seriously, there's great games from all the generations.

  9. Super Metroid on For Love of The Game · · Score: 1

In Super Metroid, where you have to use your missiles to push that creature into the acid. You then run back the way you came.... I remember jumping out of my chair when the skeleton of that thing popped out of the acid again...only to crumble again. Also, basically the entire ending of that game...it invoked a lot of emotion without ever having one word of dialog...

  10. Re:Quote is about an animation! on News Media Links Shooting To Games · · Score: 1

Yeah, I'm going to have to agree. The article is pretty even handed towards games, and the end of the article just notes some of the similarities between all the school shootings, maining focusing on the isolated communities as being a large cause.

  12. Re:And punish legitimate users? on Controversial StarForce Copy Protection Creators Quizzed · · Score: 1

You don't own the game anymore than you own the music when you buy a CD. You own the license, and probably the medium its printed on, but you don't own the source code. If you actually did own it, you could put your name on it, all copies of it, and sell it as your own, which doesn't make sense at all.

Is this that big of a deal?

Would someone steal a whole bag just to get a game?

The thief was probably looking to get some money out of other mail that was in there, and he'll probably just throw the disc aside (if he even knows what it is).
