It's quite helpful in pissing off paying customers, and driving them underground to pirate...
Seriously though... If it can be played, it can be copied... no matter what kind of protection they use... Why waste the money and resources to 'secure' the CD, and piss off and lose customers?
What speed? DDR? SDR? will it be adversely affected by magnetic fields? I know my LCD isn't phased by having my speaker right next to it, but my CRT sure as hell was... Will this thing be sensitive to EM?
Adverse effects??? Someone care to tell me where the hell these people were when Cable companies took root in my town??? Oh, did I say companies? I meant company... Adverse effects of that don't seem to bother these idiots... so much for affordable broadband via satellite throughout the country... so much for local tv service in real digital quality (not the digital BS cable has)... Ick... At first glance this seems like a great victory against monopolies... but what does it really mean???
But what about the automotive industry? Where planned obsolesence will no longer work if this technology is introduced? Sure it's military technology now, but in a few years, it'll trickle into the main stream... and then what? Are the cars of the future going to come with a monthly service fee? Cuz right now planned obsolesence is what keeps them in the black... If I could buy a car that would fix itself for years to come, I would. Why buy a new one every 3-5 years as we're required to now since all the damn parts break...
Someone PLEASE post a link to a reputable site that has QUIET fans (CPU fans, projector fans, powersupply fans) that can be bought in Canada! PLEASE!!!
Ya, just like I 'trust' the banks with my money, and I 'trust' the.... ^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H
Wait a minute? I do... and so far it seems to work... BLOODY HELL! How am I supposed to make a point of how Microsoft's intentions are evil (which they clearly are), when I can't find a good example where trusted 'fill in the blank' doesn't work... Anyone???

The screen update times still aren't fast enough for gamers, but they still are ever so delicious.
What??? I've been gaming for years on an LCD monitor... what the hell is wrong with the update times? 60Hz is ample for 3d gaming, especially when on an lcd you can't actually see 60Hz flicker... Obviously you don't have an LCD, and you are just spinning the same crap that every other uninformed CRT user is.
What about the promised all in one integrated, amazingly fast cross-referrence anything filesystem Microsoft promised us? Why isn't there a comparison to that???
Why oh why bring back something form 2 years ago, especially when there is the blender3d project already out there... why not add to blender3d? Why waste resources competing with an opensource project? You have nothing to gain, if you don't like it's functionality, re-write it... don't create a whole new software... that's just re-inventing the wheel (to the next level).
What about Microsoft's MSN messanger crap, and hotmail? Didn't they make the EULA state they own everything that transpires on either network, then remove the clause from the EULA, only to reword it a week later and append it again? Doesn't MS learn from their mistakes? Besides,.net needs to run on XP, so the EULA on XP clearly states they own anything we do on it anyways, so doesn't matter where the EULA applies, be it before or after I submit my code... it's all owned by Microsoft at one point or other...
I purchased Return to Castle Wolfenstein because it came with all sorts of neat little extras... I purchased Diablo II because it came with a DVD...
I don't understand why companies don't package more bonus materials with their games... I perfer having a nice glossy manual, some extra stuff (like DVD of movies, or some other collector item), but when I get a game like NFS 3 was, where the manual looked like it was photocopied, and there was a CD in a sleve, in an otherwise empty box for $59.99... Screw them!
Because when you download music, you're taking bread from Britney's mouth! She can barely afford to LIVE! Please, think of the starving artists before you download that next MP3.
Britney? no, you mean Christina, she's so damned skinny, just look at her, she's pratically a walking skeleton... We should start a non-profit foundation for her... "feed the genie in the bottle"...:)
Short list now... But if this 5 GHz Wi-Fi device can be used for the home/office according to FCC rules (or whatever the hell regulates wireless frequency usages), then why would cordless phone manufacturers, etc, not try to migrate to the new available frequency (aside from the wall problem, which can be solved multiple ways with a bit of programming, and good protocol development) to get away from the interference of the 2.4GHz band? If there isn't interference now, there will be, since the FCC will allow all devices with a certain class rating to use that frequency...
Anyone care to comment on why this is not prone to problems? Sure Microwaves screw with 802.11b, and cell phones, etc. But who in their right mind thinks that as soon as 802.11a takes off there won't be other devices using that range, like cordless phones, etc... This is going to be a constant problem forever. Since as soon as one device has the right to use a frequency, other devices will be manufactured to use that same frequency...
Speaking of shipping problems somewhere else... can we ship the RIAA execs there too?
Heh...I'm guessing they *didn't* get John Carmack to design the onboard computer :)
Excuse my ignorance, but why is that so funny??? Seriously, what did Carmack do recently to deserve that?

So now I'm supposed to hate Microsoft and Nintendo??? I'm confused.

I wonder if anyone has patented the posting of an article about stupid patents? and I wonder if this patent would qualify...
Someone care to explain why we won't all die from radiation poisoning with this new 'computing' technology?
What next, the half life of u-232 used to do simply logic functions? GEEZ!
make it 25 cents a minute. Canadian!!! I can't afford 99 cents per track... That's like $18 a cd!!!
Funny, I could swear the only reason we're so low on the list, is we have no real good 'news' to report, other than what happens in the US...
Ya, just like I 'trust' the banks with my money, and I 'trust' the .... ^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H

I can now proudly proclaim I am a Star Trek fan in public!

Of course I meant it. But you never called :(

I wasn't sure how to take this message...
:(
Hello, would you like to get laid? Call me at xxx-xxx-xxxx
alas, now that I know it's spam.. my hopes have been crushed...

Now, let's try 5 GHz.
Short list, huh.

Can't be tampered with? Give me a hammer, I'll tamper with it... If I can't have the data, no one can!!!
