    If you use index.html the web server would automatically resolve you when you only typed mydomain.com in the above case

    That would make it slightly less complicated.

    ... and owning stock in a company does not constitute a "business relationship," either by direct ownership or proxy ownership through a mutual fund or 401(k). I don't know your definition of a "business relationship", but there is most certainly a conflict of interest, and 401k's/mutual funds count in that regard (legally, ethically, and otherwise.)

    Austin is very unlike the rest of Texas, I think you'll find (not that the rest is really all that bad.) My apartment complex is a mix of hippies and psudo intellectual liberals. We have a locally famous crossdresser, Leslie, that has his(her?) own product line. Not to say we don't have our fair share of rednecks, but it probably won't be a significant part of your experience. ymmv.

    Very good comment, and I understand where you are coming from (my cousin is a medic and shares similar stories often.) However, it is my opinion the law of catastrophic reform needs to be weighed against the "law of a free society" where people are able to make personal choices about their own behavior. It is a delicate balance, and there are few easy answers. It is important to keep in mind that we are driving deadly machines at high speeds, and all the laws in the world aren't going to keep us safe.

    you're pretty lucky then, as well as a good driver. Eventually you'll get hit by another driver, unless your luck holds. Kudos for driving so well, though.

    Why did you move from XP? I see no significant reason. I have vista professional on a laptop I bought and when I finally got all the spyware and HP overhead crap and turned off all the extras it runs decent, but I never would have payed extra money for the OS had I the choice It sounds like you are willingly forking over money for it, so I'm very intrigued...why?

    The parent said nothing of the sort you are accusing him of, he is simply explaining the disparity between voting. I have plenty of anecdotal evidence that republicans were voting in the democratic primaries (both for and against each candidate.)

    I think they should do the study on "hardcore" mode on diablo, where a char is lost forever when you die. I can remeber disbelief, regret, and sadness when dying there as opposed to some fps where I respawn in 5 seconds.

    I will give you that the definition leaves room for interpretation. However, if I wrote on the front page that you were a murderer, then as my recourse said the definition is:

    murder - to spoil or mar by bad performance, representation, pronunciation, etc.

    I would likely get written up too. Hunting out of season, though illegal, is not quite the same as the more commonly used definition of poaching:

    poach - the illegal practice of trespassing on another's property to hunt or steal game without the landowner's permission.

    I come from a rural background where hunting out of season is somewhat the norm, but to trespass and hunt or steal is a grave offense (capital offense, here in Texas ;) ). I imagine that your superiors though the same as me; that poach is too strong an accusation for the crime committed...but perhaps I'm wrong and you were being censored.

    well..hunting out of season isn't poaching, so you were wrong and should have been written up (unless he actually did poach) Learn to tell your ducks apart before you start writing articles on them, and you won't get written up.

    Someone should mod you -1 wrong. I did not not support Ron Paul in my comment, all I asked for was links or facts to dispute for someone making an unfounded assertion. That's a pretty fair question, regardless of the subject of the discussion. If you don't want to read comments about the topic of discussion (presidential candidates in this case) I suggest you and people who mod like you read another thread, eh?

    the common line quoted from the bible to sum up faith is John. 20:29, where Jesus says: "Blessed is he who as not seen, but has yet believed."
    I think that most Christians would agree with that line as the definition.

    There are more fish in the sea, especially for government jobs. I have been promoted twice and been given a merit raise 2.5 years, and I'm only set to move higher up as more and more old timers retire. Some organizations promote based on ability or willingness to accept new challenges, though you have to position yourself for it. Also, I think that knowing the political landscape and impressing the right people has been key so far. Granted, right now is a bit of a rough spot with budget crunches, but hopefully things will get better. Good luck. -TxDOT Employee
