    Why a desktop needs 3d acceleration is beyond me. All research into computer interface design indicate that the concept "black cockpit" is the best When a game or a film making application drives hardware levels I can understand it but not when a workbench or a desktop does it.

    Well All foreign political names are if taken out of context. Lets look at Democrats and Republicans. In Sweden they just sound silly. Democrats, is OK but meaningless. All political parties are supposed to be "democratic". Its like calling a party "The Political". Republican, refers mainly to a person who wants to kill people with a guillotine in the public square. Robespierre and gang.

    I agree. I have used test to hire programmers and it is unmatched as a method to sort out the "bullshit" talkers. If you are to hire a C programmer, ask if he can write down a hello_world.c . If you use CVS or Subversion, ask if he knows how to check in a file. To see if he is computer literate ask if he can mention the four freedoms of software or if he can associate Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Larry Ellison and Richard Stallman with the correct company/institution.
