But that still doesn't stop someone from filing suit over "anything and everything" Sure there are consequences as you noted, but that is after someone has already sued.
Sometimes the idea or threat of suit is as bad as the suit itself.
Who says you can't have luxury and fuel economy. The 98 300 E-Class Turbo Diesel will get >40MPH and ~1000Miles per tank. All that and the quality of Mercedes.
Too bad they stopped selling them. The turnover for diesels are too low, there aren't as many repeat buyers because the cars can run forever.
The turbo in the diesels help the acceleration immensely, however they still suffer from turbo lag.
AFAIK Mozilla only works with Exchange Server via IMAP. Many companies turn off IMAP/POP3 on their servers. The only way to grab your mail is to use outlook or a connector.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, I'll load up mozilla now and try it.
For the laptop case you are asking people to accommodate, but why should they have to? I'm a recent switcher from a long list of ThinkPad's to a 12" G4PB. As much as I like the PowerBook, nothing annoys me more than the touchpad. It will never be as efficient to use as a trackpoint, ever.
I've had the PB for about 6 months now, and I've never tried to teach myself so many keyboard shortcuts (which in the long run could be better.) If Apple ever made a PB with a trackpoint I will be the first on the list.
I agree. Perl is a powerful and expressive language. Mature programmers will use that power to create clear, elegant, easy to understand programs. Immature programmers will use it to create programs that nobody can figure out.
Cool thanks for the update, I didn't know sunflower was pushing HDTV... (I don't live there anymore). They were always good at getting the latest technology. IIRC They had cable modem before a lot of other markets.
Its funny because the example from the article is using 9v batteries in parallel (bad), and different types of 9v batteries in parallel (bad, bad). Thus this is not advantageous at all, especially because it won't work with a mini ipod.
I'll pick up a dual layer unit too, however I've been burning single layer dvds for months from a relatively cheapp drive. There will always be something better down the road. Just get the drive and enjoy yourself.
The only problem with these is that all the pressure is on the bolts in front, there is not a good way to balance heavy devices like a full cabinet.
Also, these are not good for servers that might need to get worked on. This idea is great for routers, switches and other network equipment that just sits there.
This is basically what we did for our network devices, but not for servers..02
It will still connect when you are behind fw/nat, however there will be many clients that you will not be able to connect to, hence inefficiency.
You should always have your share ratio to be at least 1.0. Keep your torrent session alive till your ul/dl ratio >= 1.

How do you like accelerating from a full stop?
Its like you can see people walking at the same speed beside you until the turbo kicks in and you finally go somewhere

haha that should be on bash.org... just in an irc channel with me quick so I can post it
When is this not the case? I hear this every time, has anyone ever said the movie was better than the book?
Not a personal flame to you, just get irritated hearing this all the time.
I hope you have a good spam blocker on that email, you are about to experience pen*s enlargement ads full-force.
"Apple allows you to use all standards-compliant hardware with their DVD burning software."
This is hack, apple does not support this.
Also, you need another hack to install idvd4 on a powerbook with a combo drive. How exactly is apple allowing me to do all this?
The point being, they are just as guilty as other h/w manufactures.
idvd will not output to a dvd iso, only a idvd project file, so if you don't have another mac you are SOL.
iDVD only works with superdrives. If you have a powerbook with a combo and an external burner you cannot even install iDVD.
Mind telling me how to use iDVD with a non-apple superior quality DVD recorder on a powerbook?
didn't think so...
great example of why this joke will *never* die. my hats off.
sure you can have both.

zap2it via xmltv. If you think zap2it is too slow or unreliable, they are offering a new API that is reliable and fast, but not free.

Insightful?

not so funny once someone explains it to you?
Manhattan is a borough btw, just didn't sound clear from that post.
And this is why I don't have a DVD burner yet

Why all the problems with DNS? Can't you use most *any* dns server you want to?
The Roku, while nice is about $300 more than the gateway. $500 is out of the price range of most people considering the Gateway or Linksys devices.
"BTW I've read that a slightly more expensive version with an LCD is coming out in 2004."
Not anymore...
