On the other hand they have been at it for a long time.. the prices do not drop.. Some of the moderate loss hearing aids have become very popular as they have improved.. Having a severe hearing loss, they do not work for me. My basic design hasn't altered in 20 years. Only the technology has improved (analog to digital). While I appreciate that I have this option, when stem cell science evolves to fix hearing losses, I won't look back and the entire industry all the way down can go screw themselves. They made their profit off of me..
Plus being able to survive a washer and still work for another 2-3 years, plus being able to talk on the phone using EMF frequency, plus +-10 db adjustments and automatic volume control... still its pretty pricy for my over the ear hearing aids at 5 grand. I've been wearing hearing aids since birth and am in my late 40s now. They make a huge difference and I absolutely need them. I need to investigate the Canada remark..
Thats true, but the solution of being able to remotely look through a student's webcame doesn't work. The GPS would have been much cheaper legally. Or possibly full disclosure to parents before implementing the web cam solution would have been sufficient..
They claim its used to locate stolen computers and list that 20+ computers (out of 50ish) have been stolen.
Unless the laptop is "reported" to the police, as stolen, what does a webcam have to do with locating laptops? IP Addresses, in general, would be sufficient or an embedded GPS device. All visually non-invasive. Webcams could be used as a last resort to identify a thief using a computer.
In this case, it looks like this laptop was issued to the kid and the "improper behavior" was obtained from viewing webcam images. What' that have to do with stolen?
All of this is easy to think out, especially the privacy issues, so putting the webcams in place was deliberate and bound to be misused.
Now they are going to cover up and claim its all about stolen computers.. maybe they are the ones popping pills..
Maybe educational technology on computers has not advanced significantly because the interfaces we use, mouse, keyboard, monitor, are the same interfaces we used back when the first PC's came out? They have improved in resolution and speed, but there's only so many techniques you can use to present new ideas and concepts with those tools..
While I sympathize with your situation, I think the rule of thumb is that people, in general, are fat for more generic reasons. Really stupid reasons too..
Lots of choices are involved. On the surface, do you eat reasonable portions and exercise? However, under the surface, there are other choices being made. What kind of foods do you eat, and how do impact your ability to eat properly? For example, eating lots of processed fast foods can not only be a bad diet, but will result in cravings to eat more and quickly. The result is you eat a lot of sugar and high calories food and also eat foods that burn badly (very quickly). On top of that, people drink high sugar drinks such as sodas. Even though we kinda know the problem, we keep eating those same foods..
These same foods burn badly and result in bad exercise habits. You are heavy, you have no consistent energy, tired, maybe running border line or downright high blood sugar as your metabolism struggles to deal with the crap we eat.
So, there are lots of choices to make but the hardest choice is to actually do something about it, especially when you might have been doing things wrong for decades..
Being a diabetic myself for about 15-20 years, I realized that food is like a drug habit, the back of your subbrain demainds it and wants it now, and the more sugar, carbs, and taste you can get, the better. NOW!
Any luck on the stem cell horizon for replacing your thyroid?
Yes the film sucked soooo bad!!!!!! Except... you can still rent it today at Blockbusters. 20 years later.. sounds like a total failure to me.. *dripping sarcasm*;)
Personally, the movie captivated me. I first saw it in my 20's and am in my 40's now. I still watch it periodically, the music, scenery, the baroque feel and look, not to mention the music. I agree that it didn't follow the book, but its captivating in its own way..

How well does that work? My audiologist always said that having one cochlear implant plus a hearing aid was not a good thing to do?
How much were they?
