If I write military software and use a variety of open source projects in my software, what it does is allow me to build with tools that have been vetted by analyst as being clean. E.g. I need a crypto software for my submarine communications systems, I can re-use open source knowing that the code has been researched and found to be clean of "other influences". If I use a black blox software, you don't know what is inside (at least not as easily). An open source box can be analyzed and signed, joining a list of "approved" tools. I don't write military software, so I'm just opining generically here..
Expert systems have been used in the Mortgage underwriting business for years to help gain an advantage over competitors who use a manual underwriting process. You take a zillion underwriting cases and store them and the end results. Then when a new customer wants underwriting, you find a close match and return a verdict plus any needed requirements..
You are making assumptions about how this went down.. perhaps they had the right chemistry and started something and then she wanted to stop and he wouldn't. Then he persists after she has asked him to stop and starts stalking her, she blows the whistle.. All I'm saying is that you don't really know the personal details..
I got one a week ago. if you live in a 4G network area, then it works well. You can connect and get 5-6MB. If you live in a 3G then you are going to connect at 1.6 or under.. maybe way under.
But otherwise, it works pretty well. The only issue I have is that sometimes it doesn't power down correctly. Then I have to pull the battery (easy to do). It has a little screen on the front that tells you whether you are in a 3 or 4 G area and also what your connection speed is.
The real issue is that 4G is just not available everywhere yet.
What you need is a face hammock. While your are working away, you rest your face in this hammock and it will prevent your face from resting on the keyboard. Some of them come with Aloe Vera in the material so that when you wake up your skin is so soft!
If you ask me, Palm's WebOS has already screwed the pooch! My palm pre apps do not rotate unless I"m running a browser. if I want to read email sideways, I'm out of luck. If i want to look at any application sideways, none of them rotate. Why would palm come up with a late date new OS and not make that just part of the operating system environment so that all applications rotate? Seems shortsighted..
