Sorry about my spelling...
English can be confusing when it's not your primary language. Words like to/too, which/witch, thrust/trust are commonly switched. The only words I can always get right in English are the dirty ones. I even get 'false' wrong half of the time (flase, fasle etc etc) and I am a programmer !
How does MicroSoft find out about these sites before/. does?
I think they are paying some guys to just surf the web looking for stuff that can stuff people from using M$ products.
Man, surf the web all day AND get paid... I'd take that job !
"We don't support shoshkeles !!" This is lame. The internet is supposed to be platform-independant and I like to keep it that way. But now if I don't use IE, I don't get my daily shot of anoying banners/ads !!
The Treo is a really cool device, but you'll have to make some decisions: Keyboard or graffiti pad, get it now or wait for the color screen.
Probably i'll never get one, I'm from Holland and all of the cool stuff isn't available here: You can only buy an AIBO directly from Sony, I can't find the Kyosera Smartphone anywhere and my guess for the Treo is that I won't be able to get my hands on one.
I wonder what the longterm-effects of cloning are.
They plan to use human cloning for people who for any reason can't get children the natural way.
But according to the evolution theory defects are supossed to ocure but some might be usefull but other defects like infertillity are likely not to be passed on to offspring. By cloning these 'bad' properties are being passed on. I am no Genetics specialists and I don't know if the 'gene for infertillity' is a dominant one. Authorising cloning should automaticly authorise the manipulation of DNA to correct certain 'bad clusters' in DNA.
Just my $0.02, I'dd like to see other/.-ers oppinion on this one.

If I'm guessing right M$ insn't making money on the XBOX but only on the games/licensing/etc. for it?
YES !! This is where they went wrong !
So when buying a XBOX you're taking bill's bills.
OK Every geek outthere: buy a XBOX without any games and throw it away/burn it/kick it or crush it.
We could have M$ broke in a couple of weeks.
Since this article is written, the technology allready excists.
The problem is Windoze doesn't support them.
You might first see them in a PDA or embedded systems.
I don't think it's really 'on the fly'. Someone has to write to 'movie config files' on advance.
So it doesn't work for live programs like the news.
It would be really cool if this could be don't by the movieplayer it self.
Damn... Now this.
I was saving my money for a new Aibo.
I wonder is this robot is also compatible with my Honda Civic so I could read the paper on my way to work.
1. Printers aren't new.
2. Light emmiting ink isn't new.
Just pour 2 in a cartridge for 1.
You should only be aware not to make the system to mesy or your printer might start to glow.
Cool things aren't invented anymore, just new uses for cool stuff are found.
What you need is a browser firewall, so programs can't access devices (like speakers) without your permission.
IE is trying to play a sound file, is this OK?
Yes, No, Cancel
This could be a neat features for the next windows release (WinRG)
The dutch entrance for this race looks really serious, the even got help from ESA. They are testing a new type of solarcell which is to be used on communication satelites. Most of the competitors in the WSR are universities (so it this one) but this is proffesional material !!
They won't be sued. Kylix and Klyx are completly different apps. The name Kylix isn't stolen from Klyx. Like Delphi is also the name of a greek goddess, a Kylix is a greek fruitbowl of some sort.
Why are they closing this one site down ?
Things like this can't be helped, another site will soon rise and with a little bit of searching on Google you can still find all the programs that used to be on the site.
This is the same crap as trying to shut down Napster, filesharing isn't dead. Look at download.com's Top10 downloads list, 5 out of the 10 are filesharing progs !!
Imagine:
Bill (or Steve ?) walks into you office/cubical and gives you a 'request for feature' (I really mean feature as in feature here). "He, that thesaurus thing you are working on, I want that to not show any nasty words." What kind of moron would just say "OK" instead of "No, I won't because that would suck".
IMHO, a thesaurus will not work if you leave words out on purpose, it will die and then you could only see it in a museum; Both extinct: Tyrannosaurus & Thesaurus.
In the acticle I can't find anything about it but in Word97 when you type "I would like Bill to die." the thesaurus will give you "I'll drink to that.", what are they going to do about that?
(It actually works or any sentence starting with "I would like", but it's funnier this way.)

It's a well known fact that Jimi didn't play with his teeth. It just looks like he did. He played with his tongue.

Probably Win Y2K (it's always Bill's fault.)
Demo ran pretty sweet on PIII 733, 128 MB ram, Matrox G400 Dualhead (32Megs), Win98.
They should have changed the name to Bill Racer
Where can I download the demo for version 1.0 ?? See tuxracer.com for earlier demos.
Wassup ?!?!
...
Speak up, I can't hear you. Is that a chainsaw in the background ??
No, it my phone!
In that case I want one for my Aibo.

The 'problem' is that people haven't learn't from their mistakes and are still acting stupid (on the web).
I really like the title, I always knew the 4 dimension wasn't time. It's either stupiddity or smell.
