Wow. Suggesting a Windows solution on Slashdot. Brave man (excuse the assumption that you are male, but I like my odds). You're also right on the money. It's pretty much configure and forget. The best part is that the restore is pretty fast and painless. Backing up is easy... backing up in such a way that you can easily and reliably restore is the trick and WHS succeeds at this.

  2. Why use it for 3D? on World's First 3D Webcam Tested · · Score: 2

Using it to produce 3D video seems gimmicky and, as someone pointed out, who wants to look at everybody wearing 3D glasses? I think a better use would be to use the two cameras to allow calculation of distances and then replace everything beyond a certain distance. Sort of a green screen effect but without the green screen. Now that would be useful (and cool).

Amen! I know of very few companies that are hiring right now and those that are receive tons of resumes to sort through. Good luck getting noticed in that avalanche... It used to be that anytime I updated my resume on one of the online career sites, I would get a great number of inquiries. Google isn't asking for profitable ideas or anything like that. Sure, some of them could end up being profitable, but that's not the point. This is called philanthropy. And it's amazing how people from the US find this so absurd. Sometimes, there really isn't a catch.

In there you will find a very complete 2D graphic markup specification that will look a lot like SVG (in fact converting SVG to XPS is fairly trivial). This is a legitimate specification that is currently be made into an open standard (TC46). I know bashing Microsoft is a popular pastime on Slashdot (and most of the time they deserve it). But sometimes, MS does the right thing (e.g. DirectX and Silverlight) -- perhaps only be accident, but still.
