Well, I wouldn't say top of the line gaming.. but my laptop has fairly good specs and plays games nice. My laptop(Acer Ferrari 3200) has a AMD64 2800, with a 128mb ATI9800--only problem is that the HD how low RPM, and it is gunna stay that way until 7200rpm laptop hd's go down in price, hehe
shhh, don't tell anyone, but I'm still using IE6.. I dunno, I'm just so used to using it, and it seems to work well for me. I haven't had any virus or security problems(that I know of).. I always want to try firefox after reading posts about its power, but man.. IE is just so..so.. easy.
With Doom3 and HL2 comming out very soon, I am interested to see how this will affect sales in new CPU's and video cards. Will there be a great boost in sales so people can play these games? I for one have just bought a new computer to allow me to play these--although it is a laptop, and I need to get a faster HD for it.. heh
Humm, ya, they should have made a better attempt being microsoft games. Although, I know some of them are licenced out to other companies to make, like the Age of Empires series is made by Ensemble Studios, but published by microsoft. Still no excuse.
Isn't it the game writers fault, not M$'s? From what I've heard(not sure how valid I am on this though) the reason they need admin rights is because the program stores info in the admin parts of the registry. Perhaps they should start enforcing software companies to keep away from doing this, and make it easier to run windows while not being an admin user.
I just got a new AMD64 laptop, and am wondering about getting a version of redhat to run on it. Anyone know of any torrents or download links to get a good version?
Also, is the XP64 beta even worth trying yet, or should I just run XP-Pro until there is more support?
I seem to recall seeing a program that would put the domain name at the top of the screen eg, secure.visa.com would display visa.com at the top for all links. I don't remember the specifics for it, but I'm sure there is a program out there that does that. I think they showed it on The Screen Savers.
I've been held back from buying portable systems for the last few years because of past problems. My first portable was the Atari Lynx(which came out just after the gameboy, and had a colour screen), within a few months of paying the big cash it took to buy, games became very hard to find, and stopped being produced. After this, instead of buying a gameboy, as I wasnt a big fan of the cartoony graphics, I bought a sega Gamegear.. although this system lasted me a bit longer than the lynx, games became much harder to find.
Now, I think I will wait to see the actual release and game development of the new sony and nintendo portables before I shell out the cash. I guess I will have to settle playing games on my laptop for now.
Not to mention gaming while at a meeting.. I mean that thing isn't gunna be able to play Doom3 when it comes out... you might actually have to listen to what your boss is saying during a meeting..
Space exploration is so expensive right now. Any large scale things cost way too much with current technology and building methods for how much they bring in to the community. Although commercial projects to make cheaper space devices seem to be making it big as of late. I'd love to see space exploration exlode(not physically, cause ouch) and be a plossible commercial oppertunity. I'd think that manufacturing and power plants would be great on the moon as to reduce pollution and accidents close to home. Maybe when the technology gets cheaper though. Still a ways off I'd say.
Ya.. but according to that article, it costs almost $900 more than the sony(although that was 2 years ago). Also, it seems to be big and square, where as, the sony could fit in your hand like a regular remote.
From an internet booth while on vacation in the Dominican Republic during reading week. A few people who were waiting behind me to use the computer were like "News for nerds?!?!" and getting upset cause they wanted me to get off so they could read their damn hotmail...

Are these new jobs, or taking away from current jobs in the states? Maybe this will speed development up on Longhorn... or maybe not..
I was just waiting for that post... I was gunna post it, but didnt know a good spelling for "fana fo FO'
by 'so easy' I mean that I don't have to bother downloading anything, or worry about plugins for things that are already supported.
And firefox is immune to this? I understand that less people use it, so less base to create virus's, but still..
I think I may try firefox tonite when I get home from work anyways, to see how it compares. If I like it, maybe I'll stay.

Wouldn't that put them *ahead* of Microsoft and Apple?
Any idea what type of batteries they use?

Wonder if that thing could play Doom3?

Seems like an odd size, and the buttons(or whatever that is) near the screen look weird to use, hard to tell from the pic though.

Me: "Hi Mom" :$
Spyware: *incest p0rn popups*
and that's a bad thing??
If you are calling someone on this service, and don't tell them you are using an internet connection, do you think they would notice and ask?
Hummm.. do you know if it is available in Canada? I'm getting tired of using calling card numbers to call people long distance.
Has anyone tried this? If so, is the sound quality high enough to bother with? Does it ever miss words or anything?
I've had problems with other services like this in the past, but maybe they have gotten better.

Will going public affect google at all in terms of service, and their search algorithm? Investors won't get higher returns in searches will they?
