"This isn't the first time Canadian carriers have managed to charge far more than thier US conterparts for the same services. Anyone up there know why? It sure isn't the exchange rates."
"I am still waiting for an A-Team game. Can you imagine it."
I made a comment elsewhere in this thread that I'd like to see a Knight Rider game based off of the GTA Engine. Frankly, I think A-Team and Miami Vice would also be perfect for this engine. They have just the right outdoor/car driving setup to make a game that episodes of any of these shows would easily translate into.
Well I can dream anyway. Man I'd love to recreate the Blues Brothers police chase, though...
I'm sorry, I don't have an answer to your question, but I have one of my own. How is your parapelgic friend using the computer? I don't mean from an input kind of view, but rather, how is he using it to entertain himself? Is he doing it to pass time, or is he using it to learn, combination of the two?
I'm asking simply from a curoisity point of view, not from a cynical "why bother?" PoV. Hope I don't come across that way. It seems to me that a person in that kind of situation could create a new life for themselves on the net. Just curious if this person has managed this. If so, I'd really like to know more about it. (note: these questions are open to anybody who has a paralyzed friend getting using a computer...)
Sorry for being off-topic. I just get really curious when it comes to using technology to help people.
"I am curious though as to why they dont think it could be mud if they are indeed suspicious of water being present?"
Nasa doesn't like to operate that way. They don't want to finger a suspect and look at only proof that it's what they're after. Instead, they want to look at all the data and try to learn everything they can.
Seems to me they're just avoiding being overly zealous in their approach. In the process of proving something does exist, you risk avoiding the evidence that it doesn't.
"Not just in the office, but the home user market still has a huge installed base for Win98. To completely drop Win98 would further anger a large number of customers."
Would they even know about it? Seems to me that they get their support from where they buy their computer from, not MS themselves.

Supply and demand.
"Does anyone else cringe when you see/hear the words "choice" and "Microsoft" in the same sentence? "
:)
I might if I were low on karma.
Well you're no fun. Use a nick when you want me to reply.
"1. The rover is operating outside of FCC restrictions."
They still have to watch out for the DMCA, tho.
Is that all you got? Heh.
Bet you aint got the balls to use your nick.
"So..... that would make this post redundant would it not?"
No.
"Christ man, I wonder if we included you AC posts how many replies a day you are making?"
I don't post AC, sorry. I'm not afraid for people to know who I am.
"I wonder if slashdoting the website of monks is actually a sin..."
Only if you get modded up for joking about it.

Ah thank you. :)
Though I have to wonder, why was I modded down for asking for clarification? Today just isn't my day.
Uh.. what?
Though your point is quite valid, I don't understand why you are saying "quite the contrary" to me. What did I say that triggered that?
"10$ says he's using it for porn..."
I'll take that bet seeing as how Quadriplegics aren't generally known for being terribly sexually active.

"I didn't get to see all the photos before it got slashdotted, but I don't think it accepts that kind of input..."
In his case, it might.
"I don't understand why this huge and useless connector is still included on most PC laptops."
There are lots of printers and dongles still out there. You just know the one guy who can't run his old copy of 3D Studio MAX is going to be a whiner.
"Isn't that called Windows XP?"
If you had said Windows 98, modern Windows users would have found that amusing as well as the uninformed Linux zealots.
"There is water on Mars. The ICE CAPS were first noticed about FOUR HUNDRED YEARS AGO."
You don't have to have water to have ice. The caps are made of frozen carbon dioxide.

My name is McFly, you insensitive clod.
Do they have one for Mozilla? For some reason it's always front page news.
"If I was on the space station and there was a leak, that fucker would be found a lot sooner than a week."
If you were on the space station, the leak wouldn't have been accidental.
"SHEESH why do people who don't find a particular story interesting always think everyone else shouldn't either!"
It's resistance to Slashdot's sensationalism.
Microsoft is dropping support for Windows 98/SE. Lots of people still use it! Pitchforks ready!!!
Microsoft is renewing support for Windows 98/SE. Those damn buggy insecure products will never die! Pitchforks ready!!

Dammit! I'm sorry, meant to reply to the post above yours.
