Finding cut marks on a human bone does not automatically lead to the conclusion that cannibalism had taken place. Many cultures (both relatively recent and old) engaged in a form of ancester worship that involved stripping the flesh off of the remains of the deceased and the displaying of the bones. There is also the possibility (as the article mentions) that trophy taking took place just as headhunters in New Guinea and elsewhere engaged in.
There is no need for electronic baby monitors anyway. Last time I checked I was able to hear a crying baby from approx 200 feet regardless of the thickness of the walls, nearby Motorhead concert, number of other diners in the room, etc.
Their parent's seemingly selective hearing is another issue.
My experience with government IT positions has been that they are very commonly run as small shops. You might work with 3 or 4 other people at best with similar knowledge. The problem is when there is a need for a project that requires different skills. Instead of getting training or hiring a contractor to work with them they take the cheaper and easier route of just tossing those folks into the project. "Oh I'm sure you can figure it out" is the usual refrain. They try their best but it is a struggle. What you get in the end is a amateurish but passible piece of work that is buggy and full of holes.
There will always be people who seek out instant pleasure. Whether it is narcotics, alcohol, gambling, too much shopping, etc. It will always be the case. The "war against drugs" has become far worse than the problem it claims to be fighting. The laws have destroyed more lives with prison sentences, criminal records, and breeding organized crime than the drugs have. Huge amounts of money has been spent on enforcement that could've been used for other things. It is time to legalize them. Treat the mildest ones like pot as alcohol. Maybe even a bit stricter (no advertising?). Make the other drugs available only with a doctor's permission and then you have to a clinic to get them. That way someone can keep track of your health and you aren't shooting up hidden at home. Someone is always offering treatment options, the police know who the users are, etc. Spend some of the enforcement money on medical and mental treament instead. I beleive they did this in the UK for heroin (don't know if they still do) and it worked pretty well.
The down side would be law enforcement would lose its biggest cash cow, drug enforcement bucks, so would prisons which are mostly full of drug convictions. The average person would also have to face the fact that some people are always going to do drugs and it is better to keep it in the open and controled instead of trying to hide it in the closet.
My biggest problem with WOW are the gratuitous time sinks Blizz has built into it. Quest chains where you have to travel across the continent just to talk to someone that suck up 10 or so minutes, action bars that are just there to burn time (e.g. fishing), painfully slow reputation grinds that aren't a challenge skillwise just matters of endurance, etc. You can spend many evenings in raids and walk out of them all empty handed simply because of a random number generator.
It's saving grace is that they do have an emblem system to toss folks a bone if they try many runs and are still getting shortchanged. The quests are also relatively simple to solo most of the time so you don't have to stand around begging for help. There are also some pretty inventive and fun quests and instances that keep the game fun.
Ahhhh! God that is creepy. That is something straight out of a 50's sci-fi film. Next thing you know they'll have Hitler's brain in there pulsing away.
I like the wing structure of Naxx and I'd take it one step further. Make each of the wings seperate instances (so being saved to one wing doesn't save you to all of them). If you try to enter the last section for the final two bosses then it can do a check to see if you cleared the previous 4 wings just as if you had done a single clearing run. This would make it easier for puggers who may have only had time to run the first wing or two to get in on a run on the other wings with a different group. The way it is now you get saved to all of Naxx so you usually end up running the first two wings over and over since pugs tend to do the wings in order.
If Blizzard thinks I'm going to spend all weekend doing a run, like you said, then I'm going to have to hang up my toon.
I have an issue with the time required for many raids. They just start to take too long and some players such as myself only have a few hours a night at best to play. I know you can pick up with a saved instance but then you get the usual scheduling misery. I'm not looking forward to Uld. being a marathon run. I don't want to only see the first few bosses all the time because I can't stay around for a full or even half clear.
As for gear it is pretty hard to get high-end gear without having put in a significant amount of time. You'd have to be thick as a brick not to learn how to play your char even if you are farming emblems for your gear. I usually see a pretty good connection between gear quality and play skills. Usually the problem is they have the skills and gear but have awful personalities.
I don't really care how so-and-so got their gear or mount, etc. I've played enough pugs to start to recognize a core of good players who also pug regularly. I know their names. I've frequently been messaged by players asking me to join who turn out to have been very good players I've run instances with before and they know me. If you are frustrated by poor skills in pugs I suggest keeping your friends list up to date with the good ones and keeping an eye out for them.
I just dual specced my enhancement (melee dps) shaman for restroration (healer). Melee dps is my preferred way to solo and quest and is how I play most of the time. I do very well in instances also. However, the need for healers is constant and is always a handicap for groups (pug or guild) trying to get a run going. With dual specs I can now offer myself as a healer and make setting up groups MUCH easier. I've even been saving a full healer gear set for this eventuality which I will always carry.
This should also increase the pool of tanks out there. One caveat, there is also going to be a wave of somewhat inexperienced tanks and healers out there for a while while they learn the ropes. *cough* *cough*
I think we should build a big wall with mines and barbed wire and guards. I hear they have some old plans in a museum in Berlin.
Great, now if you drive on the highway it'll get hardening of the arteries.
Do they sell a model that runs off the car's cig lighter power? I've always wanted a flying car.
carbon unit infestation
There are shampoos that'll fix that.
Keep your fingers crossed and he may turn out to be the one posting the ad.

Finally, no more calling for mom over the intercom for the "toilet!"
Unless they all get smashed first.
all you have to do is create a universe and suck the energy...out of it.
Hasn't MTV been doing that for years?
Well it is already illegal in Colorado to insult a sandwich.

It is called legislative schizophrenia.
Sad thing is, he has been stuck on that last boss for the last 1.5 years.

Ok ok, just calm down and take a deep breath.

I'll see your Perl code and raise you trying to tune an IBM DB2 database.
Sure it wasn't Michael Bolton? Did you ever get your stapler back?
While they are at it can they do something about the cop killing racist gun nuts in the US? Thanks.
