I had a few upgrade snafus from FC4 to FC5, but nothing I couldn't fiux after a quick Google. I even posted my findings on my website for others to benefit from.
The Man is sticking it to itself. And by itself, I mean our men and women in uniform. As if slashing benenfits, pensions, and the "stop-loss" program weren't bad enough.
When I plug in my USB key, it gets automounted under/media/usb, and my/home and/mnt/remote NFS shares are still accessible, as well as the two SMB shares I use.
I've not user the newest Lotus Notes, but I use Scarepoint daily. I hate it. God forbid anyone use something other than IE. And if you want to view a document quickly, forget it. My department mandated that all our documentation get migrated from a fairly vanilla but searchable PHP site I built into Scarepoint. Since Scarepoint doesn't support html with linked images, I had to convert everything into Word docs. Now viewing frequently used information takes upwards of a minute where it used to be nearly instantaneous. Thanks a friggin lot.
Shoot, that'd be great, or even for SQLite. My biggest problem with OpenLDAP is the BDB backend, which can be slow and get wedged. I've integrated a de-wedging script into my startup so that in the event of power failure the machine will still boot normally, but I think SQLite would fit nicely. I know OpenLDAP supports multiple backends, but I've not had much success in finding out how to migrate to another backend from BDB.
Now, does that mean that Java falls under Stallman's banner of FLOSS? Not quite, but the question isn't how free Java is, but how important is Stallman's opinion to the movement and how important is he to the movement anymore?
Actually, I'd day it *does* matter how free Java is, especially if it's less free that the media led us to believe. And I'd have to say that RMS is still fairly important to the movement. I mean, this *did* make NewsForge.

Not been written yet AFAIK. Too many programming languages, table type issues, API quirks. I've made most of my PHP code work on both MySQL and PostgeSQL, as well as SQLite, but it was a bit of work to assemble the abstraction functions.
In theory, an app to glob a mysql server and recreate it in a postgresql server (or vice-versa) could be written, and I may even try, but revising source code? Maybe if everything you use uses one language, the same API version, and you're willing to let the app handle a recompile and reinstall as well. That part should scare any reasonable admin.
I mean, seriously, have you read your own posts? Plate techtonics? Are you kidding me?
I love seeing poor grammar in a post about education. It's a hoot. :)

Contractors without even crappy VA benefits and not subject to Geneva conventions. ;)
Improvised Explosive Device. DIY bomb, if you will. Nasty little fsckers.

Don't believe the. . .never mind.

What's cheaper about CentOS than Fedora? They're both free as in speech and as in beer.
Now I have "Octopus's Garden" running through my head. How strange.

Where do I sign up?
Not.
And besides, I'm an American. :)
Catch what belonging to the UFO? :)

I'd love to see the facility set up to store the output, to say nothing of processing it. I wonder how they'll archive it?
Next question?
Actually, it was OMG!!! Ponies!!! with 3 !s each. Which only makes the shortage worse. . .
