I have to say I love 4dwm, it just has a very nice intergrated feeling to it, but i guess it could be made to look more modern, I'm sure there should be someway to retrofit that.
And if you love 4dwm, there's 5dwm for linux and other unices that imitates it.
There's no mentions of how the hard drive is built, what kind of external protection they have, since I busted the capacitor of my last hard drive by yanking out of the bay, this played a big part in the purchase of my next drive, Seagate was the only drive that was completely covered and built to stand huge knocks, I wish they mentioned something about that in their conclusion.
Second that, I have the 60 gig Barracuda IV, its amazingly quite and is built like a tank, I'm definitely going back with Seagate, I'm amasingly happy with them, can't wait for their Serial ATA hard drives.
I used to do that with my father when I was 7, the problem with that being, especially when it comes to friends and family, the support side included, even when it has nothing to do with the hardware you supplied to them, your implicitly required to fix every hair-brained problem of theirs, no matter whos fault it was, its hard being harsh to people who are close to you, I'd recommened never having such dealings with friends or family.
Since I had a Banshee, I can testify to the fact that they were indeed slower than Voodoo 3/4 for that matter Voodoo 2's, simple because they only had one TMU (Texture Management Unit), so could not do multitexturing and had to do it all in multiple passes, killing the framerate, I don't know where you got the idea that Banshees were king of the hill or that the newer Voodoos were that crap.
What happened to those Pentium 3 chip IDs? Remember all the articles in the papers condemning it? With enough bad publicity and public hatred, this will also go the way of the dodo.
Well there not going to compare against themselves (SGI Origin's were amongst the top) and Cray is a commonly known brand, everyone knows them as one of the greatest super computer companies, C90 is a commonly known model. It all makes sense from a marketing perspective.
I actually use the Hans Boehm garbage collector as a leak detector, but Valgrind goes way beyond what garbage collectors offer, it tells you errors in your coding that would be _very_ hard to spot otherwise, this is my experience at any rate.
"The C++ ABI now conforms to the V3 multi-vendor standard."
That's a very good reason to break binary compatibility, they should be congratulated on the change. This could well mean we will have C++ libraries working with each other across compilers and versions on the same platform. Always a positive.

There are benchmarks showing that using a temporary variable is a ton faster. Should I post a url?
What about Motion JPEG then? Does it apply to that? Or is it more to do purely with compression due to recurring data across adjacent frames? In that case, aren't a lot of other video/picture formats under the umbrella (gif?).
The way of the jedi master gamer.
But that's only for text, we need something that supports OLE type interaction.
WNetEnumCachedPasswords? what ever happened to secure computing? You'd think they'd notice how stupid it is to have such functionality.
And I have a lovely IRIX T-Shirt to show for it, 6.5.infinity. :)

Didn't you know? Perfectionism is implied by Linux usage. :)

Apparently they also built there OpenGL and Direct3D support around there Glide drivers, this also didn't help them in the long run.

Seems as though they finally realised how free software can be beneficial, so what exactly are they fighting against again?
Seems as though giving away the operating system for free might be a good move for them, since most of there money is made on office anyway.

And here I was thinking it was a monty python reference!
No problems, you can non-sensically slap a K in front of everything, or embed it somewhere in the word ofKourse!
I'm not quite sure, but I think this is one of the things CXFS is trying to do. Now if I could only connect to the SGI site...
I believe he meant under the one mount point.
Great, now it'll be illegal to practically apply high school physics, I always wanted an excuse to destroy those text books. ;)
Some people really don't have much to do with their time.
Also remember that Cray and such are vector based super computers, with cpus specifically designed high data bandwidth, whereas these use itanium 2s.
