Holding a baby is not an earth shaking experience, watching a child grow is an earth shaking experience. The joy you get from a child is not the same as the joy you get from winning a game, or chasing (and catching) a woman. It is a deeper and more long lasting joy. You may not miss it if you have never had it, but once you have; you can't imagine life without.

If there are no children in your family, nieces, nephews, or cousins you may have a hard time seeing that, but there are opportunities to interact with children through volunteering. I've always wanted to try the Big Brother program, but I want to wait until my own children are old enough to be a good influence and hopefully avoid any bad influences that may come from a child with a troubled home life.

It's hard for a male to interact with children in our society, but it is worthwhile and fulfilling. Even mentoring older children and young adults can be worthwhile. It's a shame that our society does not place much value on helping people who are trying to start their lives.

I would take the time to make some special recordings. Have your wife meditate a bit on some of the things she will not be there for (I know it can be heartbreaking). Then record some messages (either video, audio, or text) that relate to those events. Things like weddings, graduations, and birthdays.

Save the messages and break them out at the special event.

Friends and Family are the meaning of life. We take care of each other. In your situation, I would look for strong social groups you could participate in, like a church, or volunteer at a hospital.

I love children and can not imagine why people would not want them around. They make you feel younger and are a joy to watch. There is nothing better then mentoring a child. People don't know what they are missing in their lives.

Holding out for a provision to protect unlawful data is like shitting in the Grand Canyon.

I'm troubled by the wireless exception, the other one seems less troubling although not ideal. It sounds to me like it would allow them to set aside an area for their own traffic, like cable television. Not ideal, but not necessarily a deal breaker.

Ideally, I think that infrastructure and content should be separated by legislation and regulation.
