Because it's rated "R" and doesn't belong in the porn section. What, are you going to sit down and watch every rated "R" movie and decide that it should be in the pron section or not?
I think you have recent events (which doesn't have a game associated with it) mixed up with events that occured some time ago (which does have a game associated with it).
I'm pretty sure the whole red Patriarchal Cross displayed quite plainly in all the government speech scenes was a "kneel before your government, or lose faith (and your freedom)" jab. However, I'll conceed your point; ever has religion been abused as a form of control. In the movie, possession of the Quran was punishable by death (the person in the movie was not in the book as presented; but I really don't want this to degenerate into a book vs movie threadjack so...).
I'd have to say that homosexuality was a major theme -- the only reason the actress was taken to the camps was because she was gay. All non-white people were eradicated (although the movie doesn't play this point up, the book very much does).
In the end, you're still right; so right I wonder if you are one of the W Brothers -- they too decided that any myriad of things could have been replaced without seriously altering the storyline, and very much distorted (to say the least, some would say "destroyed"... a love angle? For Pete's sake...) the original story to what it is on the silver screen.
Read the book & you'll see why I still agree with the GP.
Just how much of this is reaction to the perception of the fan-base that these titles are "abandonware"? I mean, aside from ROMs and old-skool computer geeks, how badly missed are these games, and since they are now coming back in updated format is this simply a way to crack down on emulators and ROM sites?
I wish they'd release PSI (Master System) and Herzog Zwei (Genesis), myself... good times, good times...
Well, no I don't actually. I live in a part of Virginia that is less than 3% per capita African-American, and as I recall, I never saw a single solitary AfAm the entire time I was in Idaho Falls.
As you said, to each his own. I certainly had a few things happening at the time that I'm sure translated into a rather frustrating stint there (no job, just out of highschool, transplant from a city of 4million to a town of a few thousands). I was under 21, so I didn't notice the lack of nightlife; I noticed the lack of things to do, since I'm not an outdoorsy person.
No. You can't. However: Idaho Falls is the one place I've ever been where you could buy cigarettes by the each instead of by the pack.
Since I posted above, I got to thinking more about life in Idaho Falls when I was there (88-89) and how that might differ today. Seeing as how I live in a relatively isolated college town now, where we have to drive 30 mins to the next "big" town (if you count Roanoke as "big", that is), I'd have to guess it's not so much different than Blacksburg, Virginia. If I want something obscure, I get it from the 'net.
As someone who lived in Idaho Falls, Idaho, I strongly advise against it unless you think man-made falls are cool and love a few of the Temple at night, and like the idea of living in a city that has nothing around it for miles except scenery, where the tallest building is nine stories tall and it's a hotel.
I lived there for a year and pretty much loathed every moment of it. Of course, I came there from Atlanta, Georgia, so... it was a bit of culture shock for me.
If you're going to live in Montgomery, you might as well consider Huntsville as well. Although it might be slightly harder to get a job there as everyone has some sort of technical background for the most part, it's a fairly agreeable city and not at all representative of the rest of Alabama.
Basically, what I say is how I've been able to mod once, and because 2/3 of my mods were M2'd I've never been offered mod again. I've been/.ing for 6 years now, and got those mod points after a year. I M2'd everyday until I noticed that there's a disclaimer saying basically if you get M2'd adversely often enough you never get to mod again. So then, I decided to M2 everything negative (I used to take great care as to how I M2'd) and I would stop posting AC or not using karma bonus if I didn't think what I had to say was important enough -- the wierd part of this is I actually started getting modded up for things that I would have been afraid to say before -- until my karma was back down to basically 0, at which point I'd start again with a whole new account. Part of what started this was introducing someone to/., and them getting mod points 2x a week with somewhat weakish karma (no negatives, but not excellent either). I pretty much gave up on the whole thing because I found Fark, where the crowd is a lot more laid back, there is no moderation except those appointed to moderate the forums, and the articles are a lot more interesting (IMO). I just pop over here now and again to see what's going on (went from reading everyday to maybe 2x a month).
Anyway, that's my story. Mod me offtopic, I only grow stronger than you can possibly imagine!
Holy crap. I've been had! How the hell did I miss that word in the first few sentances? Dear god, I feel like the guy in "The Crying Game" now./revises would hit it statement//probably too late///wth, it's only slashdot
That real chick in the picture (they never really say who she is, but it's implied it's the person who started the guild) is HAWT. Holy crap, my brain hurts./would hit it//even if her knees were like knives///what do you mean, "this isn't Fark"?
Second this comment. I have an iRiver H340 I bought back in November '04 that completely blew away the features in the iPod 30gb Photo (was the direct competitor at the time). Since then I've had video capability, photo viewing, skinnable interface, recording capability (line in and voice), fm radio (also recordable), ogg/wma/mp3 codec, and text viewing. Now with Rockbox coming up to speed, you can add to that games, contacts, calendar, etc. Feature bloat? Maybe, but considering I paid $20 less than the iPod 30gb Photo at the time, I'm happy. For some folks (techies, I guess), it's not feature bloat but rather most bang for the buck.
Oh, and the absolute seller for me was the fact that I don't have to use any software other than the OS itself to take things off or put things on the DAP.
Bing Crosby killed people? I never trusted that pipesmoking, whistling jerk anyway.
Well, just remember that for every "Showgirls" you end up watching, you'll also watch ten "Meet the Feebles", then.
Because it's rated "R" and doesn't belong in the porn section. What, are you going to sit down and watch every rated "R" movie and decide that it should be in the pron section or not?
Heh, I always called that "drunkcam". I hate it too, but I can overlook it for BSG.

It's a troll only in the way it was worded. Otherwise, it's pretty spot on.

Sure it was nice, but not for me.

I just hated all that snow and nothing.

What you say?
So, you're using a Mac running BootCamp then, eh? How's that working out for you? :)

Hear hear... Check my Journal for my thoughts on M2 & modding. The /. modcode is borked.
Yeah, I was sorta hooked by the picture. Especially on the web, I skim. I guess that'll teach me to never buy a pig in a poke on the web, eh?
I'd bet the battery life on this sucks.
If you're referring to RockBox, my iRiver H340 and I are pleased to tell you that you lose your bet.

then Apple Computing should just pay them for every Beatles song that was released on Apples label that's been downloaded form Apple Computing.

See gp, and thanks!
Bzzt. Since I'm a single dad, I get way way way more back than I put in.
