Oh quit f...ing whining! I actually thought you were insightful up to the

What else can you get that will last you forever for $1.29?
If you are so dirt poor that you don't have room for a $1.29 investment, then you most likely live on the street and cannot get food every day... My guess is that you aren't in the target audience anyway.
It's not that.NET isn't used in enterprise. It's used in the company I work for. It's more that nobody wants to work with it. Even in these times we cannot convince people to come and work for us because of the technologies we employ.
One of my friends even chooses to be unemployed rather than come and work for my company because he doesn't want to work with.net.
People using noscript got themselves into that mess... If you use noscript you are most likely able to figure out when to disable noscript and a part of a small enough minority to not really matter. Sorry.
Also, any screen reader unable to ignore tags which are hidden by css will have so very many problems with standard pages that noone will be using it anyway...
The company I work for (which is a pretty normal software company building a social networking service for a larger telco) has Windows on all their servers (go figure) and more and more desktops are being exchanged for MacBook Pros. Right now the ratio of Windows to Mac is 13:7 in the office I am sitting in.
Today we have prior art with a specific date published. Any huge company which did NOT buy this from the guys who uploaded this video have zero chance in court, no matter how many lawyers they have... Publishing your idea to a public media (like youtube is today) is rock solid demonstration of prior art.
In keeping with anecdotal evidence. My first experience with WINE was running Visual Studio 2.x (2.1 if my memory serves me right), and compiling was waaay faster. To this day I still think it was because of the faster filesystem I was using.
WINE is indeed faster than Windows for some applications.
Did you notice the ASK SLASHDOT part of the title? It's not supposed to be news, it's supposed to be a question! I am not even asking you to RTFA, just read the damn title before you post!
If you're thinking about buying extra hardware for a game, why don't you get a consol in stead and keep windows off your computer? You might even go for the slightly less evil PS3 and keep microsoft out of your house that way;)
"Mac users might be quite amused, considering that (like many other TV shows) the set of Seinfeld always had a Macintosh prominently displayed in the background."
Mac users may find it funny, but as a mac user I cannot see the video as MSN video says that it does not support my operating system. Does anyone have a mirror, or a youtube link, or anything like that?
PS. no more saying that you really use a mac, since clearly you all used windows and IE to see that video...
If you want encryption for something else, well, its time to look into stenography.
stenography
noun
the action or process of writing in shorthand or taking dictation.
I think you ment to say:
steganography
noun
the art and science of writing hidden messages in such a way that no one apart from the sender and intended recipient even realizes there is a hidden message.
Culture vs. law.... If it isn't illegal than that culture should have passed laws to protect itself
Not all countries are like America. Some other countries don't make a habit of sueing each other, but would prefer more civilized approaches. Like, for instance writing a letter and asking them to respect local culture.
... when all of my supported systems are moved to Win7 [...] it may very well be important in whatever else I do in life too.
I think you should go out a bit more ;)
Oh, and bundle it with a pony...
Depends... If a million people sign the petition, and each of those million people will buy a game for $60... you do the math...
If you (like me) bought the PS3 version of this game, then consider signing this petition to adding DLC to the PS3 version as well.
I will certainly never buy a song at $1.29
Penny Arcade said it better than I ever could: http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2008/8/8/

Funny, I read it as "airst engrizted post"...

I guess you were misinformed somewhere. Come back when you've had access to a Mac and actually seen how it works.

Hmm... How could you possibly suggest Luby and not go with an Engrish joke?

Right. Let us never ever do anything for anybody ever again lest we get sued. The American way of sueing everybody really pays off.

Cheap +5 Insightful: just say "All Americans suck because {insert generalization here}"
You make it sound like all Americans don't suck - which we all know cannot be true ;)
Besides, your tip worked for me ;)

Capt. Tenille: Simpson, as you have experience in a nuclear power plant, you can serve on a submarine.
Homer: It's pronounced 'nucular'. Nucular.
