    GnuPG can use DSA which is ECC. And as the other one said you can't compare sym. crypto with asym. crypto.

    Lets not forget the hardware mpeg2 decoder - dxr3. A lot of people have worked on this and it has resulted in a very decent driver. It has had absolutely zero help from sigma. There is even hacks to make it display rgb directly to your tv, bypassing the crappy composite and svideo.

    I've been running the 2.6 test for a while and the latest O1int patches from con have really made this a pleasure for desktop users. 2.6-test3-mm2 had massive skips when playing xmms and untaring, like 2.4 also has on my machine. But 2.6-test4-mm1 completely fixed this. I have not had a skip yet. Please not that this is from normal usage.

    Well the reason they are so popular is because two-three years ago they were many times cheaper than harddrives pr. mb. This is not true today but dvdr's are overtaken that role.

    The only email address I have on my site is blockme@mydomain and if anyone sends an email to that one they get blacklisted. Easy but effective.

    Sorry can't be there so I'll just ask here. When will slashdot be reachable from ipv6? ipv6.slashdot.org works but it points to a ipv4 adresse. Couldn't find any AAAA records with dig :(

    and that linux box used to run BSD but for some reason they now use GNU/Linux. Looks like they had a good run with BSD, ohh well

    It's pretty expensive on amazon. 128mb for 240$ and 20gb for $380. You can get an Apple Ipod 10gb for 280$

    When I visited Cebit this year in Germany the only linux distro that you would hear about was Suse, which makes sense since Suse is a german company.

    mms is a menu system for playback of music and movies. It supports framebuffer/dxr3 and lircd/keyboard.

    I think 1.0x is still considered the stable one... 1.02 will be out soon. In fact according to the roadmap 1.0x will continue to at least 1.4.

    How much does 128mb flash card for this thing cost? I'm really considering buying one and using it as my mobile audio player. Remember it's about the only thing you can get that plays ogg!
