    The belts are generally a flexible plastic with a coating of the oleophilic material, sometime a large rotating drum is used. Skimmers are made small enough to fit into a barrel bung hole, up to fairly large vessels (bigger boats). If you want to see how they work there are lots of videos out there of both small and large skimmers.

    Will this work like a oleophilic belt skimmer? Which do a pretty good job for a very reasonable price. And you can set a skimmer to work continuously. Days, week's or months they just keep rotating and removing the oil. There are always uses for different types of oil recovery and this sponge will have its place.

  4. I would be more interested in this if it worked the other way, warming my house. Where I live, I need the furnace to run 9 months of the year. And 5 of those 9 months every day. Last year, I ran my AC on 8 days.

The no left turn is probably more prevalent in higher traffic areas, but when the traffic is less, the left turn makes more sense.

    This is not new, this fingerprint reader has been worked on for several years by several people and manufacturers. Basically, this kid is doing the same thing that the Texas clock maker did, take a object apart and put it back together in a different pattern. It is not a new idea, it does not work reliably and it is just a publicity stunt.

    Was working afternoon shift on a Friday night, there were about 15 minutes to the 12 o'clock quitting time. My boss opened my door and said "I heard you were leaving", me "yes" , him "when?", me, "in about 15 minutes, him "oh". They had all weekend to find and train a replacement. I did not have anything against my boss, he was a good guy. Now the levels above him, there were some things that made me smile when I was walking to the car after the shift was over.

    Well water, surface water, brackish water, salt water, waste water and water under the influence of surface water is all water that can be treated to become potable water. How much are you willing to spend? If you really want to spend money, go to the level of purity needed for some industrial applications like chip manufacturing. The numerical grades given do not mean anything as we do not know what the standard is that the grades are being compared to.

    Ballistic Nylon is a common term for a heavy duty type of woven nylon. Wiki says that It originally was a Dupont product in WW-2 for protecting airmen. But my uncles wore leather flight gear. If it was really bad they had steel plates that they wore over the leather. But "Ballistic Nylon" has since been used for about any thicker denier weave of nylon. Think of it as Kleenex vs. facial tissue paper thing.
