If the cost of living is so much lower in india, why not make a deal to let americans work for American companies in india, alongside the indians.
Let the indians do the tier 1 stuff, and let the americans do tier 2 and 3, get a lot lower wages than in the US but live a lot better(maid, child care, gardener, hot indian girlfriend), im betting for 15k a year in india you could live pretty well.
"They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." -Ben Franklin 1775.
If I have a choice between the people who gave us Echelon, Gitmo, Abu Grahib, DCMA, COPA, and failed to stop 9/11 versus virsuses and spyware...Ill take the viruses and spyware. I can protect myself from viruses and spyware much easier than I can protect myself from encroachment upon my liberty.
If local dtv were serious about channel usage they could provide up to 5 tv signals per channel on their bandwidth oddly enough only pbs(3 signals) and religious stations(5 signals) do this. Most regular broadcasters only send out 1 signal and that being a weather channel.
Our incoming president reads spiderman comics and his secretary of energy is some incredible nobel prize winning genius who ran a program called "Bio-X", can we possibly get more nerdy?
It would give a free upgrade for Vista users to windows 7, that would get people migrated over to windows 7 much more quickly and create demand for windows 7 apps which would create a compelling case for people to buy new pc's
The president of the United States, the leader of the free world and the person whos gonna give your company billions in contracts asks you for a 747-400ER your gonna say no?
BTW: The passenger ones are not in production, the freighter ones are...the chairman of boeing can very easily do a special order.
1) The A380 is too damn big for most non-international airports
If the 747-8 isnt ready, they can always order the 747-400ER. Also a slightly smaller option would be the 777-300ER
In any event, Its not likely the airforce would use an unproven state of the art aircraft. When the current AF1 was bought the 747-200 series had been in production for almost 20 years.
Most flash games run just fine in linux including Runescape which is very popular among the younger set, the number of sophisticated web browser games is growing everyday, and with 20% of users on firefox now, programmers will write games that will run on linux browsers.
Safari does not, if you notice the marketshare for various versions of safari 96%+ of safari users are using Mac versions.
Firefox has been just about the most successful open source project in history, it has broken beyond the geek domain to the general public. It addressed a need for a reasonably secure easy to use web browser. It runs mostly the same on mac or windows or linux so so people can let their friends use it and they comfortable and familiar with it.
People who would never touch linux see firefox and they will say "Hey can I use your internet" they dont know its linux and they dont care.
An american company is under scrutiny for selling Inkjet printers to Iran? Dont we have bigger fish to fry? I would be more worried if they were not buying American products, generally as a rule of practical warfare you do not attack your suppliers or your customers. Krytons would be an issue if you were selling laser printers...fine sell inkjet printers.
on campus is filtered within school policies, you provide the internet on campus you can filter it however you want.
Off campus you should use filtering software only to the minimal extent required by funding laws that pay for the computers and no more. What kids do in myspace and facebook off campus is none of your concern.
Note Im not supporting filtering policies, im simply pointing as a practical matter you have to follow the law.
1) sold too early before drivers were ready 2) oversold on marginal machines 3) sold with requirements that were too low 4) Should have been sold as 64 bit computer only OS that could run 32 bit software
On modern machines with at least 2gb of ram with any modern video card, it runs fine. 2gb of ram costs $30 now.
Windows 7 needs to be provided free to people who have windows vista.
she was an adult who was a telling a minor child that she KNEW was depressed that the world would be better off without her after having deliberately tormented the child . Suicide was a reasonably forseeable consequence.
"Reckless endangerment"
An adult has a higher duty of care when dealing with a child than if he or she were talking to another adult.
"In a majority of jurisdictions, however, the offense is committed when death occurs during the commission or attempted commission of a misdemeanor."
Works for me
Personally I would have thought the adult womans malicious acts of emotional abuse on a child would have constituted reckless endangerment then they could have gone for felony murder.
Microsoft could have paid $400,000 and the Nigerians could have gone ahead and used linux anyway. Bribes only work when you trust people to stay bought.
Rectal thermometers are standard in hospitals and rectal probes would be safer for the patient and the alien scientist than oral ones.
Second if youre doing scientific experiments on a primitive population your not going to raid the population center youll grab somone on an outlying settlement. Plus you would figure the rednecks would have interesting diseases to study.
That if a copyright holder repeatedly uses legal harassment to prevent obviously legal uses of its copyright, perhaps it should lose that copyright. All you would need is one or two lost copyrights and you would see media company behavior dramatically change.
"Interestingly enough, we struggled with the Linux version of the Wind U90. Are there plans to tailor a Linux OS for the Wind?
We plan to bring the Linux version to the U.S by the end of the year. But we are working on some of the issues with the SUSE Linux and even continue to explore other flavors of Linux. We have discussed Ubuntu with a Mac OS type of look and feel. We are talking to different suppliers to figure out the best user experience."
MSI seems to be trying to make linux work. It seems they are as unfamiliar with linux flavors as their users are.
was the "safe harbor" provision. It basically kept the ISP's and websites for the most part out of the net-cop business.
btw: When one of the few very profitable American companies in this current economy makes a statement like
"It really could be used as a way of restricting the growth of U.S. Internet companies overseas"
perhaps the US government should listen

Bad Signs For Blu-ray

It has component video inputs, I have helios labs h4000 dvd player that upscales to 1080i over component video. I'll wait until I need a new tv set to upgrade. Maybe when they come out with a blu-ray player with a tru2way tuner for digital cable tv. Give me something I dont already have.

If you have the cash, intel doesnt need cash AMD does.
There is no reason why firefox shouldnt be able to download their windows updates in firefox!

PS/2 keyboards still work on many modern computers, my 1993 model M keyboard still gets daily active use.

Most budget laptops poke along just fine with 80gb and 160gb hard drives. The main thing is getting the cost down.

its a patent electronic device that allows all diners to pay for their bills separately with only one check for the waiter to deal with.
Its a damn good idea and would speed up customers getting seated at resturants.
