If you want to use Debian, I suggest trying it out on a desktop machine first. It'll work great for your embedded system, but unless you have the basics down, it'll be hell trying to get it working off the bat.
Anyways, I think you should skip dselect and taskel and install everything from apt-get. Sure, you have to apt-get everything you need at first, but you'll have a small system without the extra unnecessary junk that follows along.

Ahhh the operator must have sneezed during that photo.
*clears throat*.. I'd like to take a minute to talk about shop safety. Be sure to read, understand, and follow, all the safety rules that come with your powertools. Knowing how to use your power tools properly will greatly reduce the risk of personal injury. And remember this, there is no more important safety rule than to wear these.. safety glasses.
That's what I thought.. Here in Sacramento, over near Cal Expo, there's one that was mentioned on slashdot a while ago that tracked what radio stations people listened to that drove by.
It runs Windows.. I know because I've seen it blue screened before.
"(PS. We're so big we don't even run our own nameservers!)"
Their nameservers point to web1000.com.. "the ONLY FREE U.S. English Language Web Host that has NO ADS AT ALL visible in the body of certain categories of web sites!"
They sue for subdomains, yet they don't even pay for hosting? That's just classic.
I lost my safeway card, so I just type in my phone number.. Not only do they have the last name spelled incorrectly (Wathson, instead of Mathson), it's not my last name. It's the name of an old apartment-mate that moved out a few years ago. I've been tempted to enter random phone numbers to see what I get..
Of course, all of this is pointless if you pay with debit/credit. They just read the name you have on the card. Great.
Well, I'm not sure that's entirely true. The Model T and the later Model A came with a tool kit when you bought it.. Many people did their own work on their cars becuase they were fairly simple machines to fix.
How abouts swimming.. Get a nice tan and a full body workout (without the strain like running).. Usually lanes are grouped by speed and most of the time it's about beating your own time. Also, along with running, it's one of the few sports that people keep with later in life compared to most competitive team sports.
Oh, I'm not disagreeing with you about AT&T.. They suck.. My g/f had AT&T and always had dropped calls and sometimes had that problem you describe. I hear AT&T is tolerable if you get their more expensive plan that roams onto other GSM networks.
"Cingular wants to swallow up at&t? I hope they choke."
Remember that in California and (I think) New York, Cingular and T-Mobile are effectively the same when it comes to reception since they use the same towers.
Adding to that suggestion, allrecipes is GREAT because of the reviews.. People rate and review recipes, so you know what you're getting into before wasting a lot of time, money and effort into making something. The reviews are great because they'll tell you what not to do when making that recipe (ie. DONT substitute this for that.. or replace something with something else if you don't have it..)
"IMHO, they should be required reading in any engineering classes"
I took a class on nuclear weapons UC Davis.. Definitely a worthwhile class if only for the discussions and the coverage of the Cold War. All Applied Sciences, and many Computer Engineering students took it.. Not a requirement for CS majors. It's a shame.. I was even able to take a field trip to Lawrence Livermore to meet Dr. Teller.
137. Science and Technology of Nuclear Arms Effects and Control (3) Lecture--3 hours. Prerequisite: upper division standing; one course from Physics 1B, 5C, 9C, or 10. Scientific and technical aspects of nuclear arms effects and nuclear arms control including the nuclear physics of atomic and hydrogen bombs, blast and radiation effects, radioactivity, electromagnetic pulse, ICBM accuracy, laser weapons, verification safeguards, biological and ecological effects.
I read both articles, and they contratict each other.. The news article says he demanded $300,000... The other site says that he didn't want that money back. Who do we believe?
You're looking at it wrong.. The rover malfunctioned and drove across the lot to the "Apollo" set. The big news is that it's now "exploring the moon"...

I wonder if anyone else watches Norm that reads
Well, back in Soviet Russia I taught grammer.

Hasn't the media taught you ANYTHING about computer games?! Forget the games. I'm going on a shooting rage!
"I need to know the UPS will last through at least two consecutive blackouts without time to recharge."
Why not use UPS's with double the VA rating than the ones you currently have?

I don't have any numbers to back this up, but I thought Craps had the best odds..

"I have no graphics experience whatsoever."
That's probably a good thing.. That way you're not stuck thinking, "hmph.. that's not how photoshop does it."
The Torrent server hosting the third one seems to have the other two also.
C'mon man.. If you'd watch the other videos, you'd see that the Ramzi segments are meant to be funny.
"but dammit, now I have to find precompiled binaries for the exact version and build of the kernel I'm now running."
Why? Whenever I upgrade my kernel, the nvidia installer compiles one for my kernel.. No need to search for precompiled binaries.
Is that going to make my grandma's grapefruit tree obsolete?

1) Mail one to all the Fortune 500 CEO's
2) Release press release stating ALL fortune 500 companies have the license..

5) ???!?

Why would Lindows "hold Unix licenses"?
