However much I'd love to skip commercials, I can definitely see why advertisers and more importantly the networks are concerned (and you should be able to, too.) If fewer people watch the ads, the ads are worth less money - money which goes to producing shows. I'd be the first in line to sign a "Ray Romano gets paid too much" petition, but that's besides the point - without income from advertising (or with reduced income) I predict we'll either see show quality decline or cable costs go up. All it'll take is a few more years, when DVR comes built in every TV (or nearly everyone has a box.)
There's a cool song about stem cell research by Dream Theater, called "The Great Debate", off "Six Degrees of Turbulance" - I suggest checking it out =)
Check out these numbers on anandtech. Looks like the 5900 Ultra performs very well in Doom3.

Why would anyone be using IE these days unless they were forced to by their employer?
I like IE. I like the way it works, I like its integration in Windows, and I don't want to bother with anything else. I don't need password management or form filling... so what's the problem with me using IE?
Just reading that brings a tear to my eye =) The Commodore 64 was my first computer... typing that line is so ingrained in my brain that after not having used the C64 for over a decade, my fingers know where to find the " and * keys on the beautiful bulky keyboard/computer.
LOAD "*",8,1 ranks just above up up down down left right left right b a select/start, I think.
I figured if you want negative reinforcement, it should be REALLY NEGATIVE... that can sometimes be fun - the very real fear of failure =)
Think paintball vs. laser tag.

The current passing through that thing is at MOST 0.02 mA (0.2 J = 0.02 mA x 20 kV). That's weak =)

Funny? Hello, meta-moderation. It's called flamebait.

This isn't the hotel room of the future... it's the hotel room of today, if you're rich enough.

Credit the source, or at least make a note that you didn't write the prayer, please?
One or two lines of modification != original, but it's still funny.

Try this:
Play MAME on your fancy handheld in a staff meeting, and tell me how your next performance review goes.

How the fuck is the parent post flamebait? Look at the parent of the parent, THAT'S flamebait and was modded up.
I love the fact that the same user can have multiple accounts so he can mod down responses to his own posts that he doesn't like.
Whatever. Linux promoting = mod up, Windows supporting = mod down. That's the way it's always been.

Awesome, I never read the forums - thanks for the heads up!!

Looks like we Slashdotted the site =P

That's a silly thing to say.
Who said you can't have different camera angles with a 3D display? What does one have to do with the other?

The price per meg on current harddrives is RIDICULOUSLY low, we're all spoiled.
It's basically a dollar a GIG, or less... a 200 gig HD costs 200 bucks.
I'd be willing to pay $200 for a TWENTY gig solid state drive. Ten times the cost, but worth it... too bad no such thing is available.

Looks like someone read this recently-posted-on-Fark article and decided to try the headline writing technique out =)
Coincidentally, that site also mentions Slashdot.
