    I don't care if they block ports on some plans, or limit my connectivity in other ways so long as they are not blocking sites or CHANGING the content before I receive it.

    Right there folks is why we have lost our freedom. Its either all or nothing, and you cant have 'just beacuse it doesn't effect me ( today ) i don't care. You need to care from the start.

    Does this mean that we could develop our out cell phones, a kind of born unlocked?

    Which you can get all day long now from china wholesalers, who can afford to build the devices. ( setting up to produce devices like a cell phone isn't exactly trivial ) Sounds more like just 'cool factor' to me unless I'm misunderstanding something.

    But what is the point if you are being capped on data? What incentive is there for the phone companies to even care since they control the data? What incentive is there for me to use it and burn up bytes towards my cap instead of just using cell minutes? ( well, in my case i have been grandfathered in with unlimited, but you get the point )

    Well, we all may not like it, but how does these 'extras' help Microsoft's core business? They aren't around for us, they are here to sell products and make money and spending time/resources on non-products dilutes their resources.

    Its too bad too, with 2.0 i was just starting to mess with IronPython. Glad i didn't spend too much time on it.

    But isn't most of their proprietary stuff written in Python? Why not just extend to android as its main applet language?

    The iPad is selling as well as it is in part because no large manufacturer has had a direct rival out yet.

    Even with a 'direct rival' they will still sell well as some people prefer one brand over another.

    Yes, but that is after your home is ransacked, your belongings destroyed/taken, your dogs killed, lose your job while you sit in jail, and your life pretty much ruined. Also you better hope they don't find anything else while they do their searches like that movie screener you got from a friend.

    Personally this is scary nuts that it wasn't tossed out the second this was filed. The attorneys should be dis-barred and the judge toss in jail. This NOT how the American legal system works and is total abuse of it.

    So you don't have a problem with them taking a picture of your backyard party and posting it if you have a privacy fence so its not visible from the street?

    I have a problem with it, and yes i realize its 'air space' but they are crossing a moral line if they start doing that.

    The browser is the most important app for most people. Its the front door to most viruses ( ok, trojans techincally ) and is their window to the world.

    About all you can do is pack up and move out of town, and hope where you are going has not heard of the charges. Remember the dismissal of charges are always on the back page of the newspaper, since that story is not sensational news. Living down the front page story is difficult, if not impossible unless you move. People are more liable to punch you then believe you were framed.

    Most likely your career is also over regardless of how it turns out, especially if your job involved children. And while waiting in jail, you might lose everything else ( and get beat to a pulp ).
