Javascript doesn't care if it's running on an Intel chip or an ARM chip, it doesn't care if you're running it in Windows or Linux, it doesn't care which browser you are using.
It doesn't care if javascript has been ported to your browser..
While i agree in principle with what you are saying and things should be pushed down the stack as far as possible, everything relies on something being ported to something.
Never even considered it one. To me its nice way to read e-books with out the usual eyestrain from a traditional LCD. Most of all that i have read have been stories, or 'tutorial' style tech books. Flipping around would be murder.
Oh, i never wrote in my books in school, i had a notebook for taking notes.
Considering most people are a Microsoft centric shop out in the 'real world', this political issue is a non issue. Sure, *I* prefer open solutions, but large corporations at a management level really don't care.
Smaller shops, perhaps it might make a difference, if they understand it.
But most of the paying business customers out there don't care about that.. They want solid product for a good price, with decent support, from a stable company.
Or it would make it worse as companies try to snuff out anything even close to infringing on anything: "that line of code is ours, shut down your entire project, and we are seeking damages", and if the courts are receptive, it would happen.
Pretty sad when our government is more worried about IP law then protecting our borders, but i guess when IP is the only thing America makes...
First of all, notice i said 99.999%, not 100%. There are always cases of abuse, but its the minority. We are a long way from where most of the cops are picking people at random to harass just for fun.
Secondly, I have never personally seen a case where the suspect didnt have some hand in instigating, even in cases of the police ( wrongly ) going overboard afterwards. If they didn't do something to attract attention, they wouldn't have been a suspect in the first place.
But then again, its easier to bash the cops then take personal responsibility for your actions, and possible consequences.
Id rather be hit with a tazer then a 40cal any day. Nothing is 100% safe, and besides 99.999% of the time you did something to warrant getting hit, so its your own damned fault if you die.

Who said it needs 'fixed'?
Still exists for law abiding citizens.
Are public information. They shouldn't be able to have it taken down, even with a personal visit from their CEO in his billboard truck.
Much like their revenue will become. Their demise will prove as an example of how not to adapt to the new digital world.
Apple or the people that published it in the store?
I vote the people.

Have they really got nothing better to do with their time ?
No, they don't. This is how we got prohibition, giving these people power.
Ignore it.
Stupid nannys.
Or just really don't care about TV in general....
Its guilt from the church as they realize they are a closed minded establishment and look stupid. Only took them 500 years on this one.

Few really care about the open source politics.

I loved those days.. That's when OS/2 was around and it showed the world what a PC OS should be like.
But its for the children, buck up little trooper.
Ya, right. its all about the highest bidder.
No, I'm not doing anything that I feel my government would attack me for.
Today perhaps. The rules can change tomorrow.
But google still knows what you did.

They have 12 gauge self contained units. " look mom, no wires "
its the law of averages. There are nuts in every group of people.
