If you look at the track record of most linux 'organizations', the long term solution is clear: FreeBSD. And no its not a troll, just take a look at how most of the companies formed to distribute linux have 'evolved' over the years: From 'we love OSS, love us too', to 'we are now commercial, pay up or be sued' to 'we are folding, help us'. ( Tho i must say that Debian is the lone exception to the rule, they have been consistant with their goals from day one. ) At least in the FreeBSD world its been consistant and you know what to expect, and can plan ahead accordingly
The web interfaces DO house copyrighted content, since the torrent files are an IP object and subject to copyright. I is also the *only* thing they distribute, aside from the normal popup ad, which they have permission to re-distribute.
We give them full rights to distribute the the torrent files, and any attempt to prevent that could be considered restriction on free speech.
Screw fairness. They advertised unlimited use for xx a month. If they couldn't handle it, they shouldnt have sold it that way. Any other company would be sued for fraud for overselling.
As far as today, I have a contractural right to use what i want. If they change the contract, i have right to drop them.
The main difference is that the other areas of the world look further down the road and don't freak out when new things come down the pike. They just adjust, and still profit.
If i am sucking up all your bandwidth with my use, well then you shouldn't have oversold.
Pretty soon most everyone will be sucking more and more bandwidth due to on demand movies, music, VoIP, etc. Better get the infrastructure fixed and stop bitching. The ISPs make plenty of money to do it.
If the gas company tried this garbage they would be shut down in a heartbeat.
I expect people to understand what they are getting into when they sign a contract. If they don't, then they shouldn't be signing it. We aren't talking basic human needs here like food or water, there IS a choice of not signing.
Personally i'm sick and tired of no one taking responsibly for their actions anymore.
Thats true when there is a large team, but from what i understand he was basically "it".. WIthout him, there is no project, and its almost like starting from scratch.
She wouldn't go thru the "formal book challenging process"? Why is there one in the first place. What happened to the 1st amendment?
I don't care if you are offended or not, that doesn't give you the right to remove a book from the *public* library. If it offends you then don't f-ing read it!!
Regardless of what you may think ( or wish ), contracts are legally binding. You sign one, you are bound by it, regardless of your understanding of it..
Abuse the rules? Umm the contract stipulated the charges, its not ATTs fault the customer ran up time and got an automated bill for 19 grand.
I doubt a human saw the bill as it was printed, packaged and mailed all automatically.
Sure its insanely excessive, but they did use the service fair and square. I also would be wiling to bet if they called ATT and rationally talked to them, the bill would go away.

There are still laws, even in international waters.
plus countries are extending their 'boundaries' more and more, to the point there will be no true international waters left.
And don't forget if you are in International waters, you are on your own. Don't expect the coast guard to drop by to help when you get attacked.

How, with all the throttling, bandwidth limitations, and over selling can you consider it making headway?
Why should they stick to numbers only for their *internal* code names?
Its not like everyone is doing it too... ( that is sarcasm if you are humor impaired )
Extend record retention times out by law. Google will have to comply or no longer do business there.
Nice try tho.

Does it mention how they illegally controlled the gaming market back in the 80's?
Then they oversold, which was my first point.
Furthermore, it does not cost the ISP any more for me to use x gb over y gb. The pipe costs x$ regardless of its use.
Sure it might be a bottleneck for others and they may consider upgrading their hardware, but it does not really cost more if the hardware is static.

But money IS what makes the world go round.

Well of course the contract has to be legal to be binding, but if you used the service and it was stated in the contract the charges, then its legal.
Me specifically? Why yes i do.
Do YOU?

Its your choice to sign the contract. A cell phone is not a 'basic human right' ya know.
Well, then you deserve to be gouged.
