On the KDE side, Kontact is also a competitor. Its less integrated then evolution, but using kparts, it 'feels' like a single application, for the most part.
But both evolution and kontact have their issues. Id like to see something like kolab become useable for the server side to go with them. ( citadel is close, but stil quirky )
At least with closed source you can have the reasonable expectation noone is going to reuse your code. And if they do you currently have the law on your side.
If you release your code OSS style, you have the reasonable expectation that someone is going to reuse parts of it and not contribute back to you. And if they do, they currently have the law on their side.
I really see a difference in the 2 distribution methods..
I'm not saying that they may not want something in return, but if you relase it pure OSS, you take that chance. And, more then likely someone will take you up on it.
I agree they are no different then any other buisness, but athletics? I dont see that being the case.
Sure its a factor from a marketing perspective, but i dont see it being the big money maker for them. Its number of students that makes the $. Many schools where their athletic programs are nil still rake in the students/profits.
Then you dont want to release it to the world as OSS. That is the nature of the game.
Id not worry about being made fun of either, 90% of the 'coders' out there are probably worse. Your stuff runs and does what it should, be proud of that.
If you want super small, you have to make some compromises.
Replace that HD with flash, and i can see a nice little dedicated industrial monitoring style machine you can stick out most anywhere and not worry about it. And in that market, 300 isnt that expensive.
This is the true evil of the WTO, everyone has to succumb to the lowest common denominator, regardless of your own countries morals and beliefs and laws.
Well, make the punishment stiff enough, ( and follow thru ) and the risk of getting caught high enough, it will reduce the #'s of people that have the balls to do it.
Today, punishment is a mere slap on the wrist *IF* they get anything at all.
No, but you can reasonably expect the builder to put in locks that work into this mytical house.
Nor should you be expected to understand the mechanics of the locks in order to use them safely.
Those are better analogies.
Wouldn't that be 'terminates data protection law' ?
Doesn't sound like much to me. Might be enough to run the 'critical national interests', but the rest of us will be sitting in the dark without heat.
Well, thats a good start then. I wasnt aware of 'integrated' sunbird.
There are ( rare ) diseases that can cause a person to 'age' rapidly. So you cant assume anything.

And group scheduling, public folders, notes, etc ?
If not its replacing Outlook express, not outlook. And there are tons of decent competitors at that level now.
Its the server side that needs to be addressed. All the current OSS replacements have their issues in an 'enterprise' environment.
It wasn't just the wind, it was also the resonance of the poorly designed structure.
The wind was just the power to get it to resonate, from that point on it was all vibrations.
Can do this too. And cheaper.

No, not really. Finally someone actually enforces their laws. Bill should get no more special treatment over anyone else.

The losing side will contest the results anyway.
They will keep going until we stop buying. it was a great film, on several levels
To bad they didn't do the sequel back then like was planned ( if they do one now, it will be ruined )
Personally im holding out for the uber directors cut.
And quite a bit bigger too.

More then that, how does one even exist at all ?
You may not like them, but how do you actually avoid them?

One world order, via the backdoor.
This is yet another example why it needs to be disbanded.

Just upgrade to a brand new 3000$ 'big box' and you will be happy.
Your consulting bill is in the mail, thanks for choosing microsoft.
You can always get 12 clueless idiots. Or 12 with a vengeance.
Sounds like they got at least one this time.
Personally i have always worn them, even before it was law. It is the right thing to do.
But, it should be MY choice.
