    Aside from the fact that music in general is too costly, consider this:

    ( only speaknig averages here.. )

    A uncompressed CD is 17 bucks..

    To buy a CD full of downloads its costs that much or more, and you only get COMPRESSED versions..

    Not too equitable sounding to me..

    While i agree with the 200million year statement, please remember that for the most part the poor 'shape' the pyramids are in is due to man, not nature.

    Most of the 'capping' limestone was stolen.. which aside from the immediate damage, helped nature do her work even more to the unprotected areas.

    But yes, 6000 years isnt long in the grand scheme of things, and 200million is...

    Problem is current crop of FPGA chips aren't fast enough to replace a 'real' cpu.

    Im a great fan of FPGA and they they are cool, but i also know what their place is, and replacing comparably ( relative cost/performance curve ) cheap CPUs isn't it.

    if we dont keep re-inventing the wheel, ( regardless if the original wheel was good or bad - wont get into that debate here about java ) then the market slumps.. They have to keep pushing out the 'latest and greatest' re-hash every so often to sell product.

    Its sort of like the corner resturant selling leftovers and calling it something new, so people come back in to eat.

    Then they can take those records and use them as probable cause to start searching peoples homes and shaking us all down as a society?

    In a big city, leaving work on time only gets you stuck in 'rush hour'. Having a short lunch and leaving 15 mins early can save you lots of time and hassle on the trip home.. Or leaving an hour late..

    Same idea for coming in, coming in 15 mis early relative to 'business hours' saves a LOT of time. Coming in late, gets you more grief in traffic.

    It is quickly becoming a commodity market for hardware and software.

    Service people are being replaced by 'throwaway' computers that are not worth getting fixed. So don't aspire to be a 'hardware guy

    Software is getting to the point that the average person can 'get by' and not need to call a tech to help out. When the PC flakes out due to viruses or stupidity, you just restore from the original disks..There goes a lot of admin jobs.

    Canned software is also at the point that most people can 'get by', so unless you work for one of the giants, no need for programmers.

    Networks, for small offices they are plug -n - play.

    New product development? Have you seen a really innovative product in 10 years? Nope.

    While i realize that it wont dry up 100% and there will be a small ultra high level, IT market, don't expect it to be like it has been in the past Not a good place to try to start a career.

    Sure, mod me troll, but ive been in the business 30+ years, and if you dont see the direction its heading you are either a kid, or blind. ( or stupid )

    1 gb is a bit tight as far as im concerned. 4gb is a 'useable' size for daily use.
