  1. Summer lull on P2P Population Growing Again · · Score: 5, Insightful

Thats because a lot of users are students, and most went home for the summer break.

Should see a similar reducing around the Xmas holidays and spring break.

    Nothing magical here.

This is why it should *never* have been commercialized.

It took a few years, but it was just like signing its death warrant.

It was fun while it lasted.

The only 'list' that prick should be on is the back of a milkcarton for being abducted. Or the FBI wanted pages at the postoffice for being a crook.

It was a joke you idiot.

And in reality the creatures that are inferior who die also contribute to the core concept of darwinism by ending their defect 'line'. You dont want bad genes to propagate.

Gotta love the shift of responsibility.

I take it the game just reached out on its own volition and killed the people?

Thats as bad as saying "the SUV ran over the child", or " a gun shot the teller during the holdup".

Cant anyone take responsibility for their own actions any more?

No, i fully realize we lost pretty much all our right to privacy when that act was signed into law.

What i find hard to believe that is *just* requesting a 50 year old book on communism theory would prompt a visit from the HSD.

If that is all it takes now to get visitors in the black van, we are fucked.

  19. Editor != IDE on ActiveState Discontinues VisualPerl/Python · · Score: 1

While i agree that in many cases a simple text editor with highlighting is great, i specifically said that isn't what i was looking for.

But what i was looking for is a *real* ide, which includes internal debugging, RCS control, project management, and graphical tools for creating a GUI.

Ive seen this for other languages like Java, but nothing for Python ( that was actually stable enough to rely on ). All ive seen is glorified text editors, which for large projects would be a nightmare. ( but find for simple things .. im *not* knocking them as they have their place )

Personally i have my encryption turned off for this very reason, its breakable so why should i make it harder on myself for perceived security?

Does that mean im now contributing? Remember it takes active intent to sit out side my house and steal my bandwidth. You cant do this by accident. Its not like if i left my firearms in the middle of a parking lot with a sign on them ' steal me '.

If they can create mandatory DRM to even play, then they cut out the little guy off the bat and keep control over both sides of the equation.
