what PC can I buy instead that will take up as little space and do as much for the same price (or less)?
Nothing comes to mind that can do as much for that price, but I'm sure someone will post all the components that they got for some price you'll never be able to find. They won't account for the OS price, the time spend building the computer, or the lack of any warranty.
catching up in terms of sales? No. catching up in terms of capacity? No. catching up in terms of functionality? No. catching up in terms of popularity? No. catching up in terms of battery-life? IDK, Creative doesn't list the battery-life
I was just about to post the same thing. Out of every 100 themes there seems to be one decent one. You'd figure in the Mac world there would be some creative people jumping all over this.
The iTunes Music Store uses AAC files that most players can't play. But you can transfer mp3s to a variety of other players using iTunes. I have an iPod and at old Rio 500 that both work perfectly with iTunes
BTW: Can you do DVB video on a Mac yet? Just wondering when Apple plans to catch up on this (many years old) activity... If I bought a Mac the least I'd expect to be able to do is watch TV on it. Perferrably for under $200, but I'd be willing to spend as much as $400.
Well, there was the Macintosh TV, which was released in 1993.
Youc could also get the El Gato EyeTV for $199. It let's you watch and record.
Or you could get the Formac Studio TVR for watching TV and analog to DV conversions for high-quality copies of your TV programs/videos, that's $399.
Ok, they are members of the RIAA, that doesn't change the fact that most CDs are about $12 and usually include a free sampler, poster, or sticker.
Check out Interpunk I've been ordering from them for over two years. CDs are usually $10-$12, they carry local bands, shipping is cheap, and their service is excellent. I've never had an order take longer than 24 hours to go from ordered to shipped. I feel sorry for those that are paying $15-$20/CD.
typo on my part, I meant to say not the EFF. And I mentioned them because they are a charitable organization that accepts donations, and if the numbers get too high, the money goes towards charitable organizations, and my guess would be they wouldn't be on the list.
That site has been up for months. But wait, if everyone trieds to collect, and the payment is less that $5/ person, then it goes to a charity (I'm guessing the the EFF), not the people. We can't let that happen!;)
I guess I didn't consider the fact that some people hold down keys while browsing. I move my mouse all around too, just a habit. And I too find the mutli-button/scroll wheel mouse better for browsing, but I've gotten used to gestures from using the marking-menus/gestures in Power Animator/Maya.
No, to be honest, I'd like a set of system-wide commands. Minimize, maximize, next/back, cut, copy, paste, select all. System-wide, just like system-wide key commands.
FYI: Console prices
Atari 2600 - $249 (over $800 in today's dollars)
NES - $199 (over $350 in today's dollars)
Sega Genesis - $249
SNES - $199
Neo Geo - $699
Sega Saturn - $399
Playstation - $299
Playstation 2 - $299
Dreamcast - $199
Xbox - $299
GameCube - $199
Xbox 360 - $299/$399
Like the Gamecube with it's epic launch titles Luigi's Mansion and WaveRace
Gunstar Heroes. Greatest game ever.
You can hit tab though, like in a terminal window to autocomplete, at least in 10.4.x you can.
Why is every site that posts news now known as blogs? I thought blogs were reserved for goth/emo kids expressing their feelings...

Microsoft Word (TextEdit can read
Fark called, they want their link back.

Why does that logo remind me of the SeaDoo logo?

You said you wanted to watch TV on it, I gave you three solutions. Have you tried using a PC/Linux DVB card and VideoLAN?

Yeah, just 10/100/1000 Baste-T is standard.

you think that information is private? Everyone knows my birthday, you get more presents that way.

They can never redesign it though, so they'll proabbly just curl up and die.
The plane was made by a Duluth, MN company called Cirrus Design. Their (shitty) website is: http://www.cirrusdesign.com/

why the fuck are you holding down a modifier key if you don't want to do a gesture?
um, so you move the mouse AND hold down the proper key/mouse button accidentally to trigger the gesture command?
